Thread Post notification not working

Hi All,
Have an issue thats been going on for a long time and kindof wondered why I was never notified of emails within my forum. I do not ever receive instant notifications from my posts within the forum when there are replies. If I choose to send an email to someone else the email goes through. Any ideas? I'm using 3.8.6

Ok this was weird!! I am not sure what happened. I was going through all the options in VB, permissions and my profile options, but all of a sudden I made another post from a second account to my thread and it started to notify me. I don't understand?? Any one have this happen before?

You only get one notification before you visit the thread, if subsequently there are 100 more post made to that thread you still wont get any more notifications unless you visit the thread, then the next post made after you leave the thread will notify you.
