Pay for a Classified Post in a Section

Hi Guys,

Is there a way to make it so people would need to pay to make a thread in a certain forum?

For example a classifieds section that would require a one off payment per thread?

Could use Paid Subscription feature, and enable this for a certain duration (days, weeks, months, years). But, it doesn't support "per-post" functionality.

There are some classifieds mods out there, which may offer greater flexibility. But, they tend to be not as functional as the forums. Meaning they have a lot of standard fields that you may not use, and have no way to disable.

Overall, a lot of people have tried charging for classifieds, and i don't no of anyone who has really succeeded because there are too many free classified websites out there, which are as well known as twitter or youtube.

Most people, who attempt this, eventually refocus attention on adsense. Let people create free-posts, then focus on ad revenue from people viewing posts.

Yea for sure. Just go for adsense. You'll be way better off. The I look at it, once your site is doing very very well and very well known. Then you pull the adsense off and then start with a fee.

I managed to install PhotoPost's Classifieds

I have it set up such that Registered users can post 4 concurrent ads, 5th and subsequent ads are charged at $0.50
