adding online status

how can i add online status to the memebrs.php ina column can this be done easily? or could ia dd $onlinestatus by the getusername or whatever in memebrs.php?

Could you explain a little more..

there is a lot of different areas in the member.php that you can add this code.. where or what page are you wanting it to display on... from first time looking at it, it sounded like you wanted it on the memberlist page.. which would the memberlist.php file

yes i would want a new column on memerlist so if some one was viewing memerlist they would see who is online or offline i dont know much bout php so all help is appriciated

the template memberlistbit
i havent clue but maybe it could be inserted there to show it and maybe add avatars by their anme too heh

Ok, im trying this as we speak, and i got the column in, and copied the $onlinestatus from where it would normally show up in the thread, editted both the memberlist, and memberlistbits, got the column working easy, but the image won't show up sayin wether the person is online or not, and im not quite suet where to go from here? any suggestions?
