Probably simple but searched everywhere..displaying a widget..

I clicked "add new widget" (and selected "Recent Threads Widget), so it displays in the widget list. But how do I actually get it to display on the CMS. I don't see an option to select it in the grid or layout manager.

Please assist, I've been at this for about an hour.
