Would love to know what people think. Only opened the forum last night and finished customizing the style today.

Opinions please?

I like the background image, though you should set it as fixed since it doesn't tile vertically. Some of the text is a bit hard to read (either too light or too dark). Not too keen on the brown(ish) background part, and it's a bit narrow for my liking, but other than that it's alright

I'm also not a fan of narrow fixed width styles and agree the white text on the beige background is hard to read, otherwise looks pretty decent aside from whoever's face that is on top, but I'm guessing that won't be changed.

hmmm - I say kudos for trying something different - the color combination is interesting. I'm not sure if I'm a fan of it - but I do like that it's different. But perhaps you might want to narrow the color pallette down to tan/purple instead of tan/purple/green/burgundy/black/brown/etc... - That'll make it a bit less busy.

I'm not sure what the fixed width was previously - but it looks just fine to me - I'm browsing 1440x990 resolution and it's just fine.

Personally - I would completely change the header - the styling could be a lot more sophistocated - the blank space to the right is a LOT of blank space - I would rather see an ad there or a continuation of the header perhaps. It's a lot of tan blank space.

I'm a fan of customization from 'head to toe' -- I would recommend you change the forum index icons to better match the header and forum niche. The ones you have now are okay - they're nicely designed of course - seems like I've seen them shared in the .org graphics section actually - but they're generic icons... If the forum is to be about "Cher Lloyd" ((I have no idea who that is btw)) then make the miscellanous graphics completely about Cher Lloyd as well - perhaps you might consider customizing your index icons - she's got a lovely face - it's perfect for a custom icons set instead of the generic black ones.

I'm not getting the background image - it's a bit off - it should be coded as a repeating background, tiled vertically? IDK - but as it is - the left side is horizontal lines, the right side is purple.

Anyway - It's not a horrible effort. Overall = not bad.

Oh and how do I make the background image fixed?
I did a Google search and found something to try, but it didn't work.
Is it possible the style I'm using just doesn't allow fixed images??

It's not applicable now, as I see you've changed the from the 'grungy' background texture you had when I first looked to one that repeats ok, but just in case you add: background-attachment: fixed; to the body's css.

What's "The X Factor"? Some reality show?

It's like American Idol. But British.

looks like you spent way too much money for a fan site that has no visitor... you never thought of investing a zero penny in a wordpress blog to test your goal?

it's not because some guys voted for a pinup on a reality show that you will have fans on your site from all around the world... actually you're not even showing her talents on your site, not really fan if you ask.

OK. I didn't realise you had to have a customised style to receive a review.

The site is mine. I started it. I pay for it. I run it. The theme was downloaded from the style section here at vbulletin.org.

I guess my next step is to work on a style then.

Thanks anyway. :)

Well you got the last part right , in terms of the site , well , many and im sure most dont know what your site content is about .. and well , i cant really or dont know what to review? or critic .. so its hard to actually give a full review without seeing some uniqueness

You do not need a custom style... people can say whatever they want. If an off-the-shelf style works for your needs, great.
