Twitter Social Bookmark Is Wrong

For some reason the Bookmark no longer works well when trying to give the url to twitter

Link looks like:
http://twitter.com/?status=http://www.***.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44094

Twitter shows:
http://www.***.com/forums/showthread.php?t

Any idea why or have any help?
