Running Processes

I am having some problems with running processes on my forum. I have a 25 process limit on my server, and according to my host I have some queries that are sleeping for a minute or longer. They also said that my chat room and showthread are staying open too long.

We are getting a very slow site, Internal server errors, etc. I have installed the lite version of VB Optimise, and although I am sure it is worth its price being a non profit I can't afford to purchase the full version especially when I am not sure it will solve the problem. If I purchase something, it would have to be very affordable.

We use 3.8.3, any advice would be very much appreciated. Here is what I get when I look at my processes through cpanel

You should probably find a better host... I've only heard of hostgator having this limit.
