Creating a new style

Hello All,

Have you any tips, where to start, I am new to CSS but a quick learner. Have been playing about the main problem I have is adding a background image, ie game image and making the forums, CMS see through.

Any help would be great,

Start with Style Vars for a style, so you can have an idea of which elements are the core ones and once you are more comfortable with it you can add own CSS and jazz it up.

the problem now is I can change the background colour, I have changed to transparent but when I add the image, the background is white and no image. There is 2 stylevars, body_background and doc_background, any ideas, thanks so far.

doc_background is the main background
body_background is wrapper background

any reason why it is white when I add the image? Thanks for your replies :)
