View Full Version : How to hide which forums were searched in search results page??

Right now, my forum has several levels. To help users search a parent forum and its subforums, I provide a link (search.php?do=getnew&f=1 with 1 being the parent forum id) to retrieve all the new posts within the parent forum. However, when the results are returned, the page also lists every single subforum that was searched.

Is there a way to simply display "Forums: [Parent Forum name] & child forums" rather than "Forums: [Parent Forum name], [Subforum1 name], [Subforum2 name], etc, etc?

The example that I'm trying to follow is what shows up when you click on "click here" under BMW Model Discussions>3 Series at the Bimmerfest forum (http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/).

Thanks!

You must have figured this out because it does say "Forums: [Parent Forum name] & child forums"

Sorry - the bimmerfest forum is not my site. My site is www.theschoolboards.com. If you click on the "click here" link under Preschools>General Discussion in this link, you'll see how it lists every single subforum.
