Info
A pretty small hack that redirects user to the forum page after posting a new thread. Being taken back to your own post may not be necessary in some cases, so this may come up as a handy feature.
Features
- Redirect user to forum display after submitting a new thread
- You can either turn this on globally, or on certain forums
- Or even allow users to set their own preferences individually
- The additional profile field is created automatically

Installation
Import [phpdesk.com]-product-thredirect.xml via AdminCP > Plugin System > Manage Products > [Add/Import Product]
Settings
Go to: AdminCP > vBulletin Options > Message Posting and Editing Options
Users Go to: UserCP Settings > General Settings > Messaging & Notification > New Thread Saving Preferences
Mod Support
- Do not forget to mark as installed to qualify for further assistance
- A small donation would always be welcome to support further development of this hack (Support Developer (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=2101660#gtdonate))
- I'll do my best to listen to your comments and suggestions as long as time permits

There you go, a little slow this Sunday but finally managed to upload the xml file. I did my best to ensure a smooth and hassle free installation.

You'll notice that a new user profile field is created automatically with this hack (no manual creation is required). It will store user redirection preferences after posting new threads.

Give it a try.

Works well for new threads. Any chance the option can be added to allow the redirect on replies as well?

I second that notion. Would be an excellent addition to existing functionality.

Go to forum view instead of new thread view after a new post or thread. Vbulletin forum mod here.

(I made this post just for SEO purposes so that this mod can be more easily found in google's index by googling for anything which will direct a poster to the forum thread view page after a new thread or post)

How would this make sense?

It would make sense in the situation that a user would only be planning on posting one reply to a thread before returning to the thread list anyway.

Alright, washingtonboise, I'll look into this, thanks.

Exactly this or if your reply is the last at that time, there is usually no need to see what you just wrote.

Ok,

Version 1.0.2 of the mod addresses this aspect.
