upcoming events not showing up on forumhome, or custom page

I just added an event to the calendar and I have the options to show events turned on, but the event(s) don't display on FORUMHOME like they're supposed to.

Birthdays display ok.

This happens also on a fresh, unmodified install.... so how do you get events to show on forumhome? I need peoples events that they post to show up there as the code in the template would imply it does.

Even, I am interested in displaying events on forum home.

Make sure when you create the calendar that "Show upcoming events from this Calendar on the forum index" is set to Yes. Also, make sure users have permissions to see the calendars.

I'm sorry I should have posted back here. The reason it wasn't showing for me was because I changed vbulletins index file script name, so the events didn't get posted because the code didn't know where to put it.
