Forum marks threads as unread although they aren't

A few of my members has asked as of why some of the posts still shows up as unread (in forumhome) and under "new posts" tab, even when they have been viewed and read.

As my skills are limited and I'm 'fairly' new to vbulletin, i have no idea on how to fix this issue. I use vbulletin ver. 3.8.4.

Sometimes I think I have read a full thread but neglected to notice there were multiple pages and I never went to the next page- in that case because some posts are still unread the thread stays marked as unread.
