I am using 100% revenue share with members. I am using only one adsense add placement in my forum(only in thread) and i am sharing that with my members.

Here we go

First you need to create a extra field in user profile via admin pannel. (only no)

admincp > User Profile Fields > Add New User Profile Field

Select Single-Line Text Box

Title - Google Adsense
Description - Put Your Adsense Code here Only Numbers.
Max length of allowed user input - 16
Field Length - 25
Field Required - No
Field Editable by User - yes
Private Field - no
Field Searchable on Members List - no
Show on Members List - no
Regular Expression - ^[0-9]{16}$

Display Page - edit Profile



In the template postbit templates > postbit find:

change fieldName with your User Profile Field name (adsense)

Ta Da............. Now your forum is adsense revenue share forum.

Note : Don;t use default header and footer adsense code with this hack. Google adsense terms not allowed to use different adsense code in same page. So plz careful.

you can use same code for your header and footer add or any other add. If you wana installation i can do that for you (not free).

Let's discuss more possibilities of this modification.

i have installed this on a stock test forum and for whatever reason i am having a couple problems.. One all its showing is Public Service Ads. and also this is showing up on the first post of every thread no matter who the thread starter is.. I could be wrong but i dont think this is the intended behavior?

Hello thank you very much for your response. I have a question though. Would there be anyway to say limit the posting of ads to say maybe only the moderator of the forum could post ads?

I say this because in the case of Google Adsense, there is a limit of how many (3 I think) banner ads that one can show per page. So what if for example 5 different users have 5 different Adsense accounts and post all on 1 topic? Thus that would violate the terms of service?

Is there any way to restrict this so that maybe only the moderator or select usergroups can place ads? Thank you.

This will only show one time as the first post meaning only the thread starter will get payed as it will be there adsense pub # showing..

what theme are you using ???

this is working fine on vbulletin default theme as well as my cielo theme.

Im using a stock vB default theme on my test site.. However no worries.. I was just testing it and have no real use for this.. If it does really work as described it sounds like mod of the month material for sure.. Good Luck!!

yes this is same. If user not added pub id ur adsense will show on threads.

Is there a way I can make it so that only certain user groups can post their publisher ID information in the User Profile field?

I would only like my supporters and staff to be able to use this and make money but not everyone on my site. (Ie My supporters can make money but my regular registered members can not.)

Also what happens if there is a post made and there is no google information (publisher id) for it, does a google ad display or can it use my own Google ID number if there is none there?

You can't share adsense revenue like this! you must have options to ban members, determine whether member group are allowed to share adsense with you or not, add option to view ads on different page places, like navbar etc... also check if the users have pub adsense ID or not to view admin default pub ID.....All these could be done as vBulletin settings so that admin can set them via admincp..

I really like this mod, does it work with vBexperience? I must ask Phalynx. I am working with writers, musicians and other small businesses and it is exactly what I am looking for. It will encourage them to work their forum for the initial posting/editing, promotional port of call to upload to their Blog (which I call 'Contributors'), then I'll choose where in the Home (me call 'Cover') it will appear.

I had a few 'penny drop' moments last night and put in some rooly cool stuff, between 1am and 6pm, then I did something stoopid, I mean really stupid and luckily(?) my host hero, Megalai, had done a save at ...1am...doh, I have local indie Aussie host who is unreal, won't mention name probs not allowed,.

Bottom line I think 100% to contributors is a brilliant way to encourage active 'blogger', writers, videographers, musicians, local councils I mean our first threads also allow rss and podcasts...

Brilliant, I think, but I am a 'puter nuffy, old school local newspaperman, I have had my WHOLE site upside down, per se, for months, most embarrassment...but...vB allowed me to publish to Facebook and through Add This, every other SN.

Sorry for the rave guys, but new here and absolute coding novice ( although, not surprisingly, cut and paste is something that comes uber naturally, as I did with a sharp scalpel, steel rule, a waxer or rubber glue and a roller for 35 years, hands on.)

Don't mind doing the hard yards, been at this site for over 12 months, and learned everything from scratch, with help from Chandigarh for a bit, but wow what a ride, everyone thinks I'm nuts, should build my site in Joomla, Worpress, Wix...so easy man...too easy, no bones, I feel like I'm a publisher again, engaged, instead of walking away from a static development site like most.
