The code posted above by Lynne works fine. Did you add it at the template of the theme that you are using?

Disable your plugins (like the thanks hack) and then see if it works. It could be there is custom CSS for that plugin that is causing issues.

if i remember right the thank you mod has its own template. Something around thank you postbit. You can add the code there to align it any way you want.

I bet he's editing the Obsolete Main CSS.

We got it right. He was using the postbit template, not the postbit_legacy template.
