This is a small hack that it will allow you to add a custom link in the footer. You can enable and disable it at the Acp-Options-Forums Home Page Options, where you can also enter the name and url of your custom link.

P.s. I know that this can be easily done by changing the footer template. But some users are not comfortable with editing the templates manually. And for that group of users this mod is meant. It can be used by the advanced webmasters as well who would like to do this from the comfort of their Acp rather than editing templates manually.

Where do you to change the settings for this?

AdminCP > Settings > Options > Forums Home Page Options

New setting areas will be at the bottom ;).

Okay this would be perfect if we had additional link options say 3 or 5 :)

How i can Custom Footer Link open in a new window an is visible to the administrator and registered users ?

To open it in a new window find this code:

<li><a href="'. $vbulletin->options['footerurl'] .'">'. $vbulletin->options['linkname'] .'</a></li>';

And change it to:

<li><a href="'. $vbulletin->options['footerurl'] .'" target="_blank" >'. $vbulletin->options['linkname'] .'</a></li>';

About the second part of your question, would you like to hide it from guests? Or show it only to admins and the registered group and to no one else?

Edited Plugin Footer Link working done ! Hide it from guests.

Find this code:

if ($vbulletin->options['footer_link_enable']){

And replace it with:

if ($vbulletin->options['footer_link_enable'] AND $vbulletin->userinfo['userid']){
