For the background image, go to Acp->Styles & Templates->Style Manager->{Choose the style you ae using} and from the drop down menu choose for StyleVars->and under Common you have doc_background. Where it says: Background Image, you should enter the url to the image that you want to use as a background for your forum.

Ive used the above info but theres no images shown on the background
Would i need to alter the other options in there as well?

Did you enter the url to your image? And if you did, how did you do it?

Did you use the url() indetifier to define the image url?

P.s. Can you post a screenshot from the doc_background area in your acp btw?

From the screenshot it doesn''t look like you have entered the url properly. Upload the image somewhere int he /images/ folder and use the url indetifier to call it.

for ex:

url(images/misc/background.gif)

Rename your image background.gif and upload it to the misc folder inside the images directory. Hope it helps.
