car plate addon wanted

Right now I'm working on an addon for showing car plates in a forum. The structure of the addon allows nearly any plate to be generated no matter which country it is. The addon is coded with vb-standards and uses the datastore mainly and there's only one query to generate each users plate when creating/editing. The grafic (plate) can be shown at different places in the forum, several settings are available, even different charsets and so on.

Right now it's in german only and i only added the german plates yet as well as one from austria for testing.

Is there any interest at all for this addon?

If it is we will translate it from german to english and - with the help of you - create more plates for countries which are needed. I didnt find any addon like this so this might be helpful.

It's a cool mod for sure- but for us USA based board each state (of the 50) have their own design, and some states have multiple designs, and of course we use a different shape then you do- so it would be a tremendous amount of work to get this mod USA compliant... But you should release it anyway- not all forums are USA centric obviously.

As a matter of fact, each plate can be defined as the database gives options for the design (which is the source image) like where to place which text, additional graphics, size, charset and so on. I might do an exampe today or tomorrow.

As i wanted to test the system myself i created a new plate for the addon using the empire state as an example. This is the quality of the plate that gets created:

Its all in german, but thats a matter of translation and if the scene is interested in it.

Hi,
i think for US Based Boards, the most aviable Plate Design in the States, are set to Standard.

But the Addon lives from the Comunity, that Make Plates :)

I don't know of one consolidated site but if you search for each state by name and "DMV" (short for Department of Motor Vehicles) you should find what you need.
