I'll probably do this myself but I wanted some feedback about the idea.
I would like to make a function in the admin/mod CPs where I could send all or any user a quick popup much like the popup you can get when you recieve a PM. Below are a couple of situations where I think it could be useful.
1. you want to close your board but don't want to throw the users in cold water so you warn them about the board closing with the popup.
2. you would like to quickly say something, anything, to a specific user. For instance a quick welcome message.
3. A mod would like to put someone quickly in there place without publicly having to do it. He/She could use the popup.
Please let me know what you think.

Scott...I'd really be interested in this sort of hack if you are considering putting it together. Please keep us all posted!

Its exactly what Webboard had (shudder).
Not too difficult to program either. Put a variable in the page template, replace it with a JavaScript alert if say, you send a PM to a certain user, or send out an alert. You'd have to store them in a temporary DB though, I think.
Good idea, I'll program it this weekend :)

I also forgot to ask above:
If anyone has another idea as how this could be used or has any considerations as to what kind of options or specifications this functions should include, please post, post, post !
Thanx
Scott :D

To tell you the truth, I'm quite busy today trying to convert my ASP site to PHP (finally! no more Windows!). If you want to take a stab at it, that'd be cool.
If you want to collaborate in any way my AOLIM is ethankap.
