Hi,

I created a massive forum structure, than for a reason deleted it all to create a new instead.
So at the moment I have 0 forums.
Now, when I create a brand new very first forum 1 in AP it does what it needs to, it?s all fine... but when you look into browser address it says domain.com/forumdisplay.php?405-1
Can i reset this value somehow, so it won?t carry on count? So when I create my very first forum (with i would have domain.com/forumdisplay.php?1 instead?
Please advice.

I also seen on some forums address looks like domain.com/forum1/thread2.html, but on my forum it looks like domain/showthread.php?-test

What?s better?

Thanks.

You'd have to go edit the forum table and reset the auto_increment back to 1. I'm not sure if you'd have to do this for anything else since I've never really looked into it. You can try it on a test site.

Thank you very much for your reply, Lynne.
Could you advice where can I find auto_increment ? I guess it's in mysql?
And where can I find a test site?

phpMYAdmin is the easiest way probably.

A test site is a site you set up to test all your mods/upgrades prior to doing so on your live site. There is an article on vb.com on how to set one up.

If you are unfamiliar with changing things in the database, then I would not do this yourself. As I said above, I'm not sure if that's all you need to do, and if you are unfamiliar with doing changes in the database, I don't know that you would know what to do if you made the change and then had database problems.
