View Full Version : forum post icon still pointing to old location

A long time ago, I changed my forum url from forums.swiftor.com to swiftor.com but the location of the forum post icon keeps referencing the old url: http://forums.swiftor.com/images/icons/icon1.gif instead of the new one: http://swiftor.com/images/icons/icon1.gif

Both work because of the redirect of course, but every other image is pulled from the new domain, and I can't figure out where and why this particular icon is pulling from the old one.

Which places should I check? I'm not super familiar with editing templates, but I checked the forum display template and it is untouched.

Thanks for any help guys

Take a look at what you have for the location in post icons > post icon manager > view > edit an icon > post icon path

Lynne, I know this old, but I've got the same issue on my test server. I updated the post icon path via your post above, but after a hard refresh in both FF and IE7, that icon is still not showing up (it does show up in the Post Icon View screen though).

Then you probably put in the wrong path. Look in your page source and see where the browser is looking for the icon.

Thanks for the continued help Lynne. I'm afraid it is not due to a wrong path being entered. See attachments please. You can see in the icon1.jpg file that the image is not showing up on the site as well as where the page sources says it is looking for it at. In the icon1path.jpg you can see that the Admin CP, the path to the image has been changed to my test forums and that the image is showing up in that window so we know the file is there.

Thanks again,

Keith

You are showing the default icon post there. That is set in vboptions > thread display options > defautl post icon

Thanks Lynne! So what are the post icons used for? Are they the ones shown on the forum lists?

You may pick a post icon for your thread, but the admin may also assign a default if a user doesn't pick one.

Okay, gotcha!
