I currently am running a 3.7.x version in one of the sites we're thinking about finally upgrading to vB4 Publishing Suite.
I am looking for helpful suggestions and I hope you have some time to provide them. Although from most reviews I read, it looks like it's not really worth to upgrade, and better stay on latest vB 3.8.x I wanted to ask what do you believe is the best way to transition our board to latest vB4 version.
I have read many online resources from vb.com so we want to do this with minimum impact on our high traffic site.
I am considering two ways to do this:
First option which I think is more reliable, is to install a fresh vB4 and import everything through Impex. I've done this on a test environment and except avatars and profile pictures, everything else, imported without problems.
Second option is to start the upgrade process from my vB 3.7 all the way up to latest vB4. I didn't try this so I have no idea if this is stable enough.Long story short, can you guys please share how did you deal with this and what would you prefer for me to move ahead.
Thanks.
