How do I add a search box on the top of the site?

Hi,

I would like to set up a search box on the top of the site like we have here:

A search box, pull down menu for forums/subforums, and all posts/titles only. I'm running 3.8.6.

put the globalsearch stuff from the navbar template in its own div, style it and put it anywhere you want.
