Hard to tell, I would start by re-uploading the files, make sure they are being transferred in ASCII mode for php files... maybe something went wrong in the upload...

Thank for your reply.
I have done this but it didnt work.
Any other ideas?
Thanks
Steve
Looks like there's a problem with templates. Is it possible that the database didn't get fully restored?

Try disabling your modifications/plugins and see if you still have this problem.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit includes/config.php and add this line right under <?php
define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);
I would have thought it was a problem with you uploading your files, but it talks about eval() code which is usually a plugin.

Maybe re-download the original vb files for your version? It really looks like your files are corrupted in some way, so if you re-uploaded them and that didn't help maybe the files you are uploading are bad?

Scratch that.
Reupload ./global.php, ./includes/functions_forumlist.php and ./index.php . Make sure you are overwriting the copy on the server.

Hi
I have tryed everything, even from replacing all the files with new ones.
Now what i have done is i have used a backup from the 18th july and everything works fine, though when i try and upload the database everything goes in ok though when accessing the website we get loads of errors, so i have pin pointed it down to the database.
Any ideas on what it could be?
was running version 3.8.6

So both the files are 3.8.6 and the database is 3.8.6?
I just went to check your site to see the errors again and it looks like you have it up and working?

Maybe the backup was corrupted? I really can't tell you why it wouldn't work. Try using it on a test site.
