View Full Version : How to I move social group threads to forums?
I have a few social groups that have great threads and posts but have become very quiet. I want to move these threads into regular forums and then delete the social groups. How do I do this? I've looked but can't find a mod (unless I'm missing something).
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
D
Anyone have any ideas? If this can't be done in 3.8x is it possible in vB4?

Did you search in "mods" for "social groups" ? I remember seeing some mod to promote a social group to a forum, that may help.
Thanks for the reply. I've looked at all of the mods with "Social group" in the thread title and can't see anything that will do this - although I could be misunderstanding something...

Yeah I don't know I swear I saw it... I see you posted the question in the mod to move threads to social groups, seems like it would be logical the opposite would be possible.
In the mean time this mod: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=210037
can make your social groups look like forums on forum display- might help bring more traffic to them.

I don't think there is a current mod to do what you want, but it should definitely be possible with the use of datamanagers.

Not that I have seen. There is this modification for v3.8 that might be interesting to look at.

Thanks, though I'm not sure if those social forums are stored as plain, regular forums... as I'll be moving this vB to XenForo and don't intend to use social groups there I really just want to get the social group threads out and sort them into regular forums. I'm wary of installing anything that would store any vB content in any non-default form as that would be a problem during the import.
