How do you know it's 'nulled software?

coz when you run the upgrade your suposed to input your customer id. this bypasses it so its nulled.

try globally disabling the plugin hook

add

define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

to config.php 1 line below <?php

see if that helps

Yeah it's illegal.

On a side note, i don't know why but every vbulletin forum i visit i check to see if its nulled :P
