Attachment type images

Is there a download available to get more supported file type images. Say for example someone uploads a .text file and in their post there's a little notepad symbol or the same with rars.

If not, how do I do it myself?

The attachment type images I'm reffering to you will notice when you attempt to upload a file, the easist I can think of is a txt file. When you upload this you'll get a little symbol of a notepad of the post you've attached the file to.
