I cant figure out to make an internal welcome-message to new members of my site.

I just saw a mod that sends new users messages. Did you browse the mods here?

edit: Now I can't find it. Maybe I saw the "BBR welcome thread" thing.

Well if you want to send them a PM there is already a built in one. Go to the settings --> User Registration Options --> Welcome Private Message

There you can set what you want to send and from who :)
