How to change the limit of userfield type "Multiple-Selection Checkbox"

I have a profile field with type "Multiple-Selection Checkbox". It has a lot of choices but there is a limit (31 options max). I want to add more than 31 options to this field.
How could I pass the limit?

The limit is 32, because PHP only supports 32 bits integers
