This hack is an extension of vbGallery's bulk server upload option and allows you to upload media from other server(s).
In order for this hack to work, the vbGallery usergroup setting "Can upload images directly from server" must be set to yes and the appropriate user folders must exist. When uploading new media, the "Upload files directly from server" option MUST be checked.
The hack works the exact same way as the bulk server upload option, except instead of uploading the files from your server, it uploads the files from the URLs entered in the input box. Optionally, the files that are transferred from the other server can be given a new name and are automatically sequentially numbered.
When the upload form is submitted, the files are transferred from the URLs entered in the input box to the users folder of the currently logged in user. Once all the files have been transferred to your server, the transferred files are then processed as usual.
The screen shot will give you a good idea of how this works.
This hack was tested on VB 3.8 and VBG 2.5 and requires a change to 1 template and 1 file.
*** In order for this hack to work, the "Upload files directly from server" option must be properly working first!
