Yes this is possible... go to your ADMINCP/STYLES & TEMPLATES/STYLEVARS/DOCUMENT_BACKGROUND <--- and provide a path to the background image that you wish to use.

The only way is to customize your profile and save it as site default. Sorry but this is vB problem that needs to be addressed and they seem to not care about custom styles / designers.

Yes this is a silly little vBulletin bug... ive been working on a CSS fix for this, just need to add some stylevars settings to the css which can be added to the additional.css file, so far i believe i will have a working fix for the profiles section.. i will post this on SkinDen.com soon as ive finalized it (actually working on this right now).

Have you customized any templates recently or did it import like this?

Try renaming your current Blackend style then import that style again and see if it looks ok then. Or you can simply name the style when importing it instead of changing the current name.

Open the drop down menu for the style in question "BlackEnd" and click "Edit Settings" here you can rename the style...

I don't think this is what is causing the issue tho.. see how it goes and if the problem continues please PM ME or Steve (Qwk86gn) with your URL and admin login details to your site one of us will look into this for you asap.

Re-uploaded the style package. I think there may have been a mistake in the exporting of the xml. Not really sure why most are not having issues but we are getting some random ones.

@Streetgliderx I have sent you a PM and also on your site it seems that you may be running a previous version of Blackend for 4.1.0.

@Raven87, did you import the style-Blackend.xml before importing style-Blackend-Red.xml ? Only suggestion I have for you is to delete the Blackend style and re-import it again.

To me that looks like a plugin is causing the display issue. I see no problem on my install with no addons/plugins.

Try to disable plugins that modify the Usernames or stats.

There are no default templates edited. So if you had to revert FORUMHOME it was something you had done, not from the Blackend style.

I love this style, and am using it at boss302.org.

The Profile pages are a little hard to read though... the area on the left where the user information is displayed is black fonts on dark gray, as are the unhighlighted tabs and the "Customize my Profile" button on the right.

I've been trying to figure out how to edit these colors but have been unable to figure it out. Any hints or help? Just trying to get it more readable...

For example, I had a background image for my header only, and the Customize my Profile was picking it up... a little strange...

Profile customization is something left to the admin of the site really. When making a style to release here we have no idea if a user is going to have the options enabled for profile customization so to include edits in the templates or additional.css can cause errors.

With that said there are some ways to get it right.

Login as a admin and go to your profile page. You should see a button above the editor on the right that says "Customize Profile". Click it and customize the style how you like it to be for everyone, then click the button that says "Save as Site Default".

Please note that this makes it these colors for every style you have installed.

Other option is disable profile styling here:

Admin CP -> Settings -> Options -> User Profile Options -> Enabled User Profile Features

After disabling that you can now use CSS to style the user profiles. If I get some extra time here soon, I will try and get a template made so it looks proper.

Thanks, I will check that out. I'm not sure if I was clear, but I was attempting through the stylevars to edit the look and feel of the profile page, because it's just hard to read using the default colors (I have not modified the colors specified in the downloaded style).

I will try your method, but given that some of the colors in the profile are tied stylevars or CSS to other areas of the board, will modifying the look and feel of the the entire forums and CMS? Just curious.

It would mean going back through the style and changing the paths of all the images that are set in the stylevars and in the additional.css template.

Do the other styles use a "styles" folder? Is that what your saying?

You should be able to create a "Styles" & "styles" folder on your server as letter case is used in image paths.

If its really old then those templates are outdated and are not making use of new features added or fixed in vB.

You rename just the style name: Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> Choose from the drop down "Edit Settings" -> Rename then save.

You can try the merge but I have not tried it with a ton of customizations. The newest version of Blackend is all customized in the additional.css template so further updates should be simple.

In Stylevars for Blackend search for doc_margin. Add "auto" to Left & Right properties, then search for stylevar doc_width. Set your desired width there. I would suggest 980px - 1024px

Hi, I'm not sure what your problem might be. Must be something with the language pack or a mod or plugin you have installed maybe. No title is used for that icon just a default tooltip when you hover over it. How does the default style look?

Alright I tried to reinstall the style with no luck. I'm kind of at a lose as to why it loads a blank screen when switching to the Blackend style.

Before going any further if you could make a DB backup and we can try another style or have you tried another 4.1.2 style from someone else?

I was getting all kinds of errors on themes not working/displaying correctly after I upgraded to 4.1.2 yesterday as well. When I imported the new theme I would get a message saying

"Failed to write css files. Please make sure that the directory 'clientscript/vbulletin_css' is writable...Done" after I clicked import.

If you notice you are getting this same error, log into your ftp, and CHMOD the directory Forums/Clientscript/Vbulletin_Css to 777.

Alright I tried to reinstall the style with no luck. I'm kind of at a lose as to why it loads a blank screen when switching to the Blackend style.

Before going any further if you could make a DB backup and we can try another style or have you tried another 4.1.2 style from someone else?

The version for 4.1.2 should work fine as there are no outdated templates showing in 4.1.3. In the future everything should be fine because there are no hard template edits, everything is in the additional.css.

With that said, future upgrades should be easy enough for the novice admin so I'm no longer going to support vB updates.

INSTALLED on 4.1.3 and working well.

The red version needed a couple color tweeks. Seemed to be a few gold bits from the gold version left in there. Took about 1 minute via StyleVars to change these to red. That said, this has got to be the most complete and well thought out set I've installed so far. Even better than some of the ones that I've paid for. The little bits that usually get lost in the dark just pop. This is a must have for anyone seeking a dark theme. Props to SkinDen for giving us such a complete option.:up:

Change it to suite your needs. Remember it will be overwritten when upgrading your style.

You will have to edit the postbit_onlinestatus template and change the path to what you need. You will have to update this with each style update if needed.

Style Updated to vB 4.1.4

This will most likely be a final update unless something major changes.

I had no issues upgrading to 4.1.4 with this style, if you experience any problems check your addons and template edits as the default install upgraded flawlessly!

Did you import the style-Blackend.xml and upload the images files?

From the looks of it the images are not loading because they are not in the correct location or not on the server.

That seems like a really low screen resolution you are using.

Only thing you can try really is to adjust the padding. Add this to the additional.css template.

Quk86gn - Thanks for the info about moving down my logo. The logo and the User Name and Password were on top of each other. After playing with this, I found this code is great for both, centering the logo, and moving it down.

Just place this code by:
Look in the Style & Templates, Style Manager, then next to the style I want to change, Edit Templates > CSS Templates > additional.css

That is incorrect, your best bet since you have changed things in the stylevars is to just reinstall the skin.

If the images did not show on the first import of the skin then your folder directories were not correct.

Ok, I think the footer template issue should be fixed. Not sure what the deal was but my install is a fresh 4.1.5 and it WAS NOT showing a difference when viewing the template. The wweird thing is nothing was showing that the templates were not merged or outdated until I clicked the "Control Panel Home" link in the ACP. Then I seen the issue.

I think the 4.1.6 update broke some aspects of this.

When I click on the Edit button and goto Save, it does nothing and neither does Advanced and the buttons are all jumbled up together in the editor when you try to edit a post.

I spent a couple hrs trying to update it from 4.1.4 to 4.1.6 and the way profiles and the editor is being customized is beyond being easy. Also the CMS underwent some chaing as did blogs (commetns ect..) and to me that sort of changing mid-stream is really mind boggling. Besides I received a few good donations and such but nothing to warrant the continued support.

The main thing is not having spare time and keeping up with the updates.

Its not because there is something wrong with this theme, I had the same issue and i thought its just the theme that i had on, but i found out that did a template edit and i missed some coding and that caused me not edit any posts, couldn't let me go advance and all the same issues that u have and once i fixed the coding everything started working just fine like before. OK. Maybe that's why my Editor in a users' profile (visitor messages) is all messed up.

Can u put on a screenshot cux i had some issues with users profile and i got it fixed but i am just not sure if u have the same problem or not?

I already read ur post where u mentioned that u won't be able to update this style anymore. I just upgraded to 4.1.7 and got very few versions conflicts in "Postbit_legacy" template. I am just pasting them here. If u think its something u can do or if u allow anyone else to fix it (permission to keep it alive :) )

The style has no template edits, if a template shows outdated then it is because of a mod or a template edit that you have done.

Easiest way to compare templates is with Notepad++ (http://notepad-plus-plus.org/download/v5.9.3.html) with the Compare Plugin (http://sourceforge.net/projects/npp-plugins/files/ComparePlugin/).

Open the outdated version in a new window then the default in another. Go to "plugins -> Compare". After that it is pretty easy to understand. After making the correct changes to the template, revert the outdated one for the style then paste the new version in.

I had the same issue but mine wasn't on just one style it was on all styles and what i did i removed userid -1 from customrprofile from the database. If u wanna try this fix please make sure u do the backup before you touch anything else. mine was fixed when i removed "userid -1" so that might help u or not, i'm not sure :(
