Mod that detects ad-blocking software and displays an alternate image

I came across a forum today and for the first time I was using ad-block... where the banner ad normally would be was instead a banner image saying something to the affect of "You are using ad-block software, please disable it so we can pay our bills"- and of course I did... curious how they did it- and I guess if they could display an a graphic anyway why not just display the ad to begin with but I digress...
Asking them directly how it's done isn't an option.

Thanks... unfortunately as I posted in the mod's thread I didn't have any luck getting it to work right.
