I have looked all over for them, is there a place where my users can find a referral url for them to use when sending people over to my forum so that they get credit?
Thanks!

Yes - it's in the admincp under options

I have that part enabled, I am just not seeing where users can find the referral url so that people can easily refer people without the new user having to fill out the name of the person who sent them.
Hope this makes sense. :erm:

No, but there are a couple of mods out that handle showing that link. One works, the other one doesn't.

Can you point me in the right direction? I have 3.8.5. I am totally new to this VB thing, sorry if I am asking crazy questions. :p

Yes, when you go to the register page (register.php), append ?referrerid= and their userid after the = sign.

Couldn't seem to get that to enter the referrer. I thought this would be an easy thing, I guess I will head over to the section and find someone to pay to do this..
Thanks for your help though!

If your domain isn't on a /forum dir it'll be:
http://www.example.com/register.php?referrerid=1 (if the referrer is userid 1)
If it's on a /forum dir it'll be:
http://www.example.com/forum/register.php?referrerid=1 (if the referrer is userid 1)
I know this works as I use this extensively myself...

Oh okay, Thanks James, that is what I was looking for, before I was putting the user name instead of their user number! Thanks so much for the help, you rock!

Right you are, sir. vb 3 and vb 4 have to ways of doing the link.
kdeans, you're referrer ID is your user ID. Just have your users do the link as James showed you and they can give it to people they want to refer to the site.
