Colours of Links

Hi there,

I'm trying to change the colour of links appearing within forum posts and articles to be changed to blue and underlined.

However, when I change StyleVar link_color or link_textDecoration, it affects every single thing that is a link, including forum listings, thread listings, user names etc.

Is there a StyleVar to change such that it only affects links appearing within forum posts and articles?

In this thread, someone has helped with forum posts, but there's no solutions for articles yet. If someone could help that would be great;

Well I can help you thanks to Lynne on the color but I can't on making them auto underline. Put this is you additional.css template:

/* change link color in article and preview */
.vbcms_content .postcontainer a {color:blue;}
/* change link color in posts */
.postcontent a {color:blue;}

I have this at the end of the template but I don't think it matters?

Thanks, your code helped me figure out the equivalent statement for the cms, namely .vbcms_content .postcontaner. Combined with the earlier answer, I fixed the issue.

If you want your links underlined, add the following into your additional css statements: text-decoration: underline

Add that under .postcontent a {color:blue;}

For your case, you can try:

/* change link color in article and preview */
.vbcms_content .postcontainer a {color:blue;text-decoration: underline;}
/* change link color in posts */
.postcontent a {color:blue;text-decoration: underline;}

By the way, can I ask how you become a "Designer" in vbulletin.org?

No I was asking since it seemed you knew the answer and this would be a great addition to the current. Thanks for the info as well. FYI I didn't know you were a designer :)

Yup we worked together to come up with the answer; you had the vbcms parameter and I had the underlined fix; so together we helped each other get what we want.

As for the designer bit, I was hoping to get started on something since I saw the progress ranks graphic wasn't supported anymore so I thought I can try it out since I was already helping and answering requests on the original thread.

What I meant was I have noted that you have the tag "Designer" under your user id, and I presume that is because you have shared certain graphic mods or the like.

I'm not quite sure how the designer/coder/contributor system works here and was asking you for some help as I see that you are already a Designer as evident from your user title; hence I presume that you must know how the system works.

If I am wrong and you have no idea how you got a user title of Designer, then let me know.

Oh sorry I threw in a mod for 3.x and 4.x but not sure how I got it to be honest. Paul M or Lynne may be able to answer that though. Maybe post count?

I just noticed that links in the Calendar are not covered by the above; would you by any chance know the equivalent to postcontent and vb_cmscontent for the Calendar?
