What Does This Hack Do?Silver
This is an update to my 3.8.x version of this hack, designed to work with vBulletin 4.0.4 and above.
This is a hack adds a menu to the Forum tab on the navbar (and also optionally on the What's New tab), which allows you to search for unanswered threads forum-wide.
This hack was originally created as a result of a request from Boofo in 2008 - see here (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=1438354&postcount=3).
There are no file or template changes at all, and is fully phrased.
vBulletin Version CompatibilitySilver
This hack can only be used with vBulletin 4.0.4 - 4.2.0, see Frequently Asked Questions section below for more information.
For the v3.8.x version of this hack, which will also work with v3.7.x and v3.6.x - check here.

Frequently Asked QuestionsSilver
Question:
I get a "This product is not compatible with version 4.0.x of vBulletin. (Compatible starting with 4.0.4)" message. WTF does that mean?
Answer:
It means that this hack will not work with vBulletin versions below 4.0.4, as Internet Brands had removed some search functionality when they released vBulletin 4.0.0 that caused this hack to not function, they added back most of the functionality in vBulletin 4.0.4, see this bug report for more information - http://tracker.vbulletin.com/browse/VBIV-3652. Do not ask for it to be made compatible, you will have to upgrade to vBulletin 4.0.4 for it to work.
Question:
I can not exclude forums. What can I do?
Answer:
Upgrade to vBulletin 4.0.8 (or above) and use the latest version of this hack
Question:
Why can I not select the location where I can add the menu on the What's New tab?
Answer:
Because there is only one template hook that allows you to auto-insert the menu
