I'm going to post this question over at vB also and it's not a trick question.

I've been running with vB since 2004 and still recommend it to everyone but I have an upcoming project to recommend a forum software for a charity organisation.

I'll also be recommending a professional implementation and design company so any feedback/suggestions people can provide would be most beneficial.

So my question is why vB, what are its pros/cons and comparable competitors and suggestions for companies to use to implement.

Many thanks

Mark

Well, what does the charity use for their main site ... will they want some type of user comment integration?

edit to add: if its a charity, and their needs are minimal, go with phpbb and one of the dozens of free / low cost designs out there and let them save the money (and tech resources) for their primary mission.

As you are asking about the default software, this question should be posted on vBulleitn.com and not on this site.

Why VB? Look at this community. Honestly, this is why I prefer Vbulletin over any other software. This is the BEST free modifications community you can find on the net. Without a doubt, it is why I went ahead and purchased another VB suite.

Amen!

Despites vB4's uncountable flaws, all the mods and advices available on here are worth the licence's price, that's for sure.
