I suggest using language phrases so that "project", "projects" word could be replaced throughout by for example "support issue" "support issues" or similar. When I do a phrase search now, I find "Project" in hundreds of places.
I use PT for customer support tickets it works very well but "Projects" is not the right word then.

Can you specify a location to where the word is hard coded into the system? All phrases may be edited within the Phrase system and it'll replace all locations.

Thanks King, I did not mean it is hard coded. Maybe my first posting was not well written. What I mean is that the word project apears in a hundred or so different phrases so editing them all one by one is quite a task. It would be great if they could all be replaced somehow, maybe by "phrases in prases" or a search / replace query.

I don't think we can do something here. The word 'Project' is on various phrases due to specificities for translations and this could not be done via Project Tools itself.
There was always a search and replace for phrases available.

Thanks that may be what I need.
It is not clear form ACP and ACP help if the filter "Phrase Type" is applied also on Replace? So it i slightly scary to hit the Replace button. Which dB tables should I back up in case I need to restore?

Once you click Replace you will be displayed all the phrases that match what you entered in the "Search for Text" field, but for the moment still nothing will be actually replace. On this list of phrases you will be able to choose which phrases you want to apply the replace to.
If you, even with this, fear you can do some damages, backup the "phrase" table.
