If you don''t have a db backup from prior tot he upgrade, you other and only option would be to convert to another forum system and then convert back to 3.8. But bear in mind that doing that it might cause you to loose some settings.

I still have the old data base, I just installed a complete fresh 3.8 with a new data base. Im not the best person when it comes to this. Learning little by little and really dont want to lose the people i just got back on the vb4..
I just wanted to know if Impex allows the transfer from vb4 to 3.8, I didnt know what to choose in the impex. They had
vb2
vb3
vbb i beleive it was.
no vb4

Impex is used to convert from other forum systems to vb whereas you want to roll back. If you have a db backup from prior the upgrade, simply restore tha and then upload the vb 3.8 forum files and you should be all set.

What I meant it was if you made a db backup from before upgrading to vb 4x, then you can restore that but all the posts, members, topics etc that were acquired from the time of the upgrade until now will be lost.
Your other option, would be the round about conversion method that I explained above. Other than that I am afraid you don''t have any other option to roll back, unless you can manually alter the db tables by undoing all the changing vb 4x added in reverse.
