there is already a mod to do what is required.
If i don't make mistakes translation should be this: Exlude User Groups from Flood Check Wait Time Limit

Os-T

Is there any chance to modify this to exclude forums from the time limit?
There is already a mod for vB3.6 (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=136448) but I need it for vB4.

Kinda resurrecting this mod a bit, but.. I just had a need for it so installed it. Thanks much!

Ideally all I wanted was the ability to limit specific forums to specific time limits, but I was able to make this basically do what I needed. Thanks again!

Is there anyway to exclude certain FORUMS from the post edit time limit in addition to usergroups?

If not is there any other way to do this? I want to let users edit posts/threads forever in a certain section of the forum.

Hi

attention, The variable Select the Usergroup to be excluded from no limit edit post by forums enables the time limit for those groups to the forum selected.

You don't select groups.

Hi,

please open attachment my post above i am already select premium member for Select the Usergroup to be excluded from no limit edit post by forums

and dont select anythink on Select the Usergroup to be excluded from limit edit post (all forum)

Asterix_ita
10-17-2011, 04:47 PM
In your example all groups have no limits in forums 131,133,135,159,160,161,162,150,195,134,158

premium member is the only group that has the limit.

attention in this case we reason to the contrary, you must select all group excluded staff and premium group

Can you please provide instructions on how to upgrade from the first version to the 4.0.1 version please?

I have the original installed now but don't want to mess anything up when upgrading.

For example, should I uninstall and delete the first version or just upload the new files and overwrite.

Is there any way we can get a version of the upgrade to this MOD that's compatible with 4.0.x versions please??

I just went to upgrade and it said I can't because I'm running 4.0.7 and dependencies have not been met.

If it wouldn't be too much extra work, I'd really appreciate having a version compatible with 4.0.x versions.

Let me know.

Thanks,
Adam.

Open the file product_nolimit.xml and try to change this line

from

<dependency dependencytype="vbulletin" minversion="4.1.0" maxversion="4.9.9" />

to

<dependency dependencytype="vbulletin" minversion="4.0.0" maxversion="4.9.9" />

Members who are excluded from the time limit to exit posts cannot change the prefix of their thread. Only the thread content and the thread title.

Can you fix this please?

Asterix_ita
06-24-2012, 08:00 PM
The prefix is part of the title Thread, it is therefore not tied to the post. Also by default if you spent the time set for changing title, the prefix can 'only be changed by admin.

It's not a bug, I check if it is still possible to enter the option

vers. 4.0.3 beta

changed the structure of the plugin, you can now decide the new time limit on each forum and assign that limit to groups

is removed automatically the version 4.0.2

enable the addon:

admincp -> settings -> options -> CT no limit edit post

the settings:

admincp -> forums and moderators -> forum manager -> edit forum

mikez006
07-30-2012, 07:43 PM
exactly what i was looking for, but my forum has 60 forums. It would be great if I could just checkmark the forums to select them, then add a edit time and select the usergroups so I can do it in one shot instead of editing 60 forums.

Asterix_ita
07-31-2012, 04:30 AM
You can use a query to set the values

eg.

UPDATE {prefixtable}forum
SET ct_nolimitactive = 1, ct_nolimitgroup = 'idgroups', ct_nolimitnewtime = 60

If you have multiple groups using commas to separe eg. '1,2,3'

clauz
07-31-2012, 03:43 PM
If I activate the product on some forum, put 60 minutes and I check some usergroups to enable the timelimit... well, the unchecked groups cannot edit their posts there (in fact no one can edit there after 60 minutes).

If I put 0, the checked groups can edit their posts undefinitelly, but other groups (unchecked) can not edit any more.

How can I do to let some users edit 60 minutes their posts on some forum, but other groups to be able to edit undefinitelly their posts there.

Asterix_ita
07-31-2012, 05:01 PM
Now there are 2 settings for the limit:

1. set of default vbulletin (my opinion should be the standard, example. 60 minutes))
2. the time set by this mod the exception

clauz
07-31-2012, 05:26 PM
So again:
How can I do to let some users edit 60 minutes their posts on some forum, but other groups to be able to edit undefinitelly their posts there.
What should be the settings? On vbulletin default and on this mod?

Asterix_ita
07-31-2012, 05:38 PM
Possibly we do not understand.

In a forum you can have:
- groups that use the default (not selected in my addon)
- groups that use the new limit (selected in my addon)

all selected groups have the same time.

if you want this situation:

default time 15 min (default vBulletin options)

forum A:

group B time 60 min
group C unlimited

this isn't possible with this mod

To give you an example, each user group have their own privileges. Jr members cut off time for editing is 5 minutes, valued contributors have 12 hours. How can I implement this with your mod? Thanks. ;)

I noticed that the setting doesn't apply to sub forums. I have for sale sections with many sub sections. It would be handy to be able to set it for the top-level forum and have this apply to all sub forums.

Love the mod, working on setting it up. 4.2.1 PL1

I am trying to setup forum 29 with this feature. It is a sub forum of forum 7, as shown in the screen shots attached .

When I just try and set it to a specific forum, I enter the forum #, and the category I want to be able to use the feature. ("By Forum" screen shot) It does not show an edit button for them in that forum. If I set the permissions forum wide for the same user ("Global" screen shot) it shows the button, but they can edit or delete anywhere they want.

What did I do wrong? :)
