_ RPG PET is a combat system includes main features such as training, shopping, boss killing, PVP, and other auxiliary parts.

_Ajax is mostly used in some parts: Boss, Versus ? members can participate and interact in combat directly.

_About skill system. At the moment, I have difficulty building a suitable skill system for this mod. If you are interested in my RPG PET, please help me with your ideas.

_All items, characters, bosses could configure in Admincp. In the next versions, I will try to add more functions.

_It is not difficult to use RPG PET?s functions. Admins could view Notes in Admincp to know how to configure.

? To give facilities, I had uploaded Database with heroes and items in DotA (Defense of Ancients).
? Uploading Database: You download DATA_Dota.rar in attachment, unrar into PhpMyAdmin, choose your forum and Import ( If you have a table prefix , you must edit the table prefix in DATA_Dota.sql ).

+Note: If you do not see countdown timer, do these steps:
Go to Admincp ==> RPG PET ==> Settings ==> CountDown Script and add this link: http://www.minisitegallery.com/2020/countdown.php

Update:
I have it setup with vbcredits II beta 3 (vb 4.0.x), but I still need to setup the script and add some items and monsters before it will be visual. The install was a breeze. Not ready for demo link yet as I need to finish tweaking this mod on it. Should have an english demo of it after lunch.

Update 2:
Those in beta 3 for vbcredits II, I've confirmed the app working. change money field in settings to "credits" or create new currency and leave field as money, and add name "money" as currency table name. Doesn't require any extra coding.

Really nice Addon, but there seems to be some trouble with table prefixes. Addon and DB are installed without any prefixes but the script seems to need them.

I manually changed the table names to prefix_rpg_...

Hero cration worked with this fix, but after clicking "Observe":

I fixed this problem by comment out $vwd and use direct pathing. Seem to fixed that problem for now but still having division by 0 when create character, and character image is not showing p.

I only have one problem: I use ucash as my points system. But the Points are not stored in an own table, it's a field in the vb tables. How can I use this?

I got it working although I had to admin edit my character to give him some max hp, and few points to get him started. The revive potion didn't seem to work when I first tried it. aka type:3hp10 for example

I got exact same thing. The coder is fixing this issue at the moment. I think you can fix this by going to the database and give your character some HP so it wont be division by 0 anymore lol

i did renamed them all at the install file and sql file, the install works, and then i modified the php files but there are a few coded so still not working :(

Just tried to run this, but when going to rpg.php, getting an empty/blank screen.

I also noticed your DATA_Dota.zip contains images to a specific URL. I don't think this is a wise idea. Might be best to the peoples own url instead.

Actually everything works PERFECT for us. Install was a breeze added database and adding new characters now. Amazing mod my members are freaking out!, we used to do all this is a forum thread (sucks!). Thanks for the great addition my friend.

Make sure your config.php file has the table prefix empty, by default it should be "bb". Did someone install vb for you or have you more than one forum?

you can it make so .. you will find 4 files ..pet ..rank ..clan ..mypet .. you can add to all 4 other titles ..


rpgpet_pet = full detail profile
rpgpet_mypet = your Character
rpgpet_rank = ranklist
rpgpet_clan = clan site

edit all page title to one title ..

go to your ftp .. search /yourParth/RPG/language/language.php

in the first line .. see you this:

the "yourtitle" is the Title for all Page titles .. edit it .. save it

und finish ;)

I think its better if the coder have the attack button instead of doing everything automatically. Like you press attack then monster takes damage, and as the same time the monster will attack you.

Had quick question. I have it installed and everything is working cept my only issue is under "Train" I lowered a monsters lvl all the way down and made it 0 gold to fight him to have a person to gain exp from yet it still wont let me attack.

I installed this on vb 4.0.3 and I experience issues with the db table prefixes. When I install it the tables appear with no vb3_ prefixes which is fine, but when I enter it from the front end or admin end I get sql errors on all areas where its looking for tables with vb3_ prefixes.

Am I missing something here ?

Do you thnk you can work on an extension that will:

-Allow people to post image of their pet on other forums in their signature, website etc etc.
-When people click on it it brings them to the pet section and allows people to register.

This is an ATTRACTIVE means of forum registrations and participation/promotion.

Also give some bonuses for people getting lots of clicks to exp.

I have this downloaded but I also have several questions about the gameplay itself. I know I'm being anal retentive, but I have a forum that has game designers and they will do their level best to break it and my spirit.

Going to a demo board I see that to get to level 2 I needed 13 exp. To get to level 3 I needed 20, 4 I needed 30. This makes no sense to me as lower level monsters would have to be almost no exp while higher level monsters STILL couldn't be worth very much or you'd get a level fighting it each time. I know that you can set the initial EXP and I ASSUME that this carries over (so if you set the exp needed to 100 then EACH LEVEL requires 100 exp). Will there ever be a way to set exp per level?

Levels: When you get a level what really happens? I see that you get some HP, but is it the same for each class (warrior, gunner, etc.) or are they all the same? Is there any other benefit to gaining a level?

Stats: With no documentation it's very hard to determine what the stats for "pets" or monsters should be. For example in the demo site (I used the one given by a user here http://www.aniworlds.net/forum/rpg.php) had stats from 1 to 11 depending on which character you chose. The first level monsters have stats in the 1 - 3 range and always did the same damage regardless of how many times we fought. So what do the stats mean? Is it a percentile? So a critical of 1 has a 1% chance of doing double damage? Or is it a direct match where my critical is 3 and his is 6 so his is twice as effective as mine? How does the attack/defense work? I was being attacked by an attack of 3 with a defense of 11 and they did 2 points damage to me each time.


I'm sure I'll have more questions as I put this thing together, but it's very hard to balance a game with no information to go off of.

Another question. What does it do for the monsters to be of a certain class? If a monster is a Thief with identical stats of a monster that is a Warrior, what is the difference?

Kraxell, I'd be willing to bet you are attempting to edit a pet, monster or item. I get the same thing. It allows you to make a NEW one with no problems, but the script calls for a bad SQL table when attempting to edit.

I edited my tables directly to get around this, which is a bad, bad thing.

Bump to that my friend. We have custom made the mayority and have the plan more or less set out, but now we are getting another problem that now the fights are not ending; meaning: for example: we set the battles to be for 2 min , once the 2 mins are done the fight keeps on . You can go train and shop and market but if you go try and train or battle , it gives you that you are still in a battle, when in fact it should have ended hours ago. Then when we checked our sql logs we had about 400+ databse errors, all saying the same thing, example below:

Apparently it is trying to edit a table adding to the users RPG values and get error. As my college said above we also have dedicated much time to this mod, we think it has an incredible potential and we are not going to let this go any time soon. Would be alot of help if we can get some clarification on these issues so we can all gain more and help each other out.

also bugfree ist diese version schon.. das problem an dem ganzen ist nur das man probleme hat diese zu installieren, wenn man prefixe benutzt.. mein forum hatte davor auch das prefix vb4 und ich habe rpg pet nicht zum laufen bekommen.. da mein forum noch ganz neu war, habe ich es nochmal installiert ohne prefix und siehe da alles funktioniert ohne zu meckern ..

ich habe garkeine probleme es nun zu benutzen.. sprich ganz ohne fehler .. sicherlich gibt es vieles was man erweiteren und updaten k?nnte .. was evtl auch noch kommt.

aber vom guten und ganzen rennt die version richtig gut .. zumindest bei mir ;)

It's not only the prefix (that would be easy fixed by renaming the tables.) There are also much querys with wrong syntax for prefix, so i think it is a lot of work to fix this for prefix table syntax.

But i have one question for general use of the table prefix, is it possible, to remove the prefix from the config and rename all tables? Would this result in a working system?

add a bank/money system to your vbulletin (i have kbank) .. the name kbank add in the settings to the rpg pet.. give all users a start money or give points / money pro posting in your forum ..

in my forum become all new register users 1000 gold .. 500 gold cost a train for the minimal monster .. fight to this and you earn 1+xp + money 800-1000 this is a random system in rpg pet ;)

Darkgamer, you have a potentially great mod on your hands but you need to step up. This says supported and has not been for some days.

It has enough issues that I can see it being moved back to alpha/beta testing phase.

- work station .. go work for 10-30 min for more gold (in this time can not attack)
- area fight (user vs user can win gold from the other player)
- you fight to a biger lvl and loose ..your player can loose gold
- robber system .. the player can attack other player random (same lvl) and can attack this .. for win money :D
- animal creatur .. what help you in the fight .. your player can update this .. a dragon or a dog or other ..
- users can upload this own charakter picture (...upload a picture!)

The DBTech guys are a team who do this for a living. Yes, they will probably have a Lite version as well as a pay premium version. I don't care. These guys do stuff and do stuff right. They have great customer service and when you pay for something they will help you make sure it works.

Sorry, but I'm done with this hack. I so much wanted it to work but it never has. It's too bad - this had such great promise.

Hmm, that says that the warrior is both strong AND weak against mage?

Also, wouldn't there be a natural imbalance somewhere with there being 5 classes? (Would need 6 to work correct If my reasoning is correct, otherwise you end up with rock, paper scissors, and then 2 classes left out which are forced to be both strong AND weak against each other...)

What it's saying is that unless you are attacking a specific people there's no way I'd ever play a Thief or a Gunner. Both have two classes that own them and everyone else does normal damage. Warrior and Mage are both very defensive as they only have normal or weak attacks against them. Actually a fight between a Warrior and a Mage would be fruitless as they are both weak against each other.

Really the only balanced class is the Hunter.

Darkgamer, I really think this is something that should be done within the hack. I had a similiar problem with my mod once as well and I was able to fix it to work with all styles. More people will end up having the problem so best to nip it in the bud now.

I'll look into it and see what I can do. How is the "Name" of the pet, and the stat block being created? I don't see it in the "rpgpet_create" template. Where is it grabbing the all uppercase data (I.E.):
