Sharing Forums between sites?

I want to create a spin off community and I'm looking for some ideas or working products about how to share specific forums between two sites (site1.com / site2.com).

I saw a few mods but they are either for vb3 or they are in the modification graveyard.

Any suggestions or alternatives?
