I need to uninstall my phpportal but phpportal.com is now no more were can i get directions to how to remove it safely

How did you install it? Reverse the procedure and you should be all set.

Basically, if it has a xml file that you imported, un-install it, delete all its files that you had to upload at your forum folder, if any and drop its database tables. I mean those that were added by the phpportal. Although make a thorough backup of your db before you do that.

Usually, the uninstall of the product file drops it's tables.

Not if the portal has its own install.php file which most of them ususally do. And I am guessing that the OP has deleted that file after installing the portal as it is a security risk to keep any install file in your server. Hence my advice to drop manually the db tables.
