We have had our forum in existance since 2003. Looking for some feedback, any recommendations, and thoughts. Our main business is the store site at Vivid Racing. We get a TON of traffic, a ton of guests, but not much on the poster side.

Car sites are weird. Each one has it's own flavor.
My first thought is I don't know what the site is about.
Is it pretty much tuners?

I think sites need a sense of ownership with the members.
There are a ton of BMW vendors that have forums that I rarely even read (I'm a BMW guy).
I may go there for a how to article or to price parts.
To me the focus needs to be community.

Hard to describe.
Site looks good though.

I like it! Great design. If your getting tons of traffic but not too much posting, I think it has to do with the # of Forum sections you have.

Distribute the load of comments across more categories to create more discussion so people realize new posts. Also take a look how I embeded "Follow real time posts" on buypoe.com/forum. Right now, I see it as the best method for members to follow the most recent activity.

Remember you want people to get engaged with your site, so get them to click on things, get them to do whatever it takes to post. Making your site look different from the average forum is a + after you get that traffic.

Good luck.

If I were you...I would pick a side of the fence. If you want forum traffic...get in the forum traffic business. Do you want forum traffic or parts sales? Hard to team with the wide array of forums out there to advertise for you and at the same time compete for their traffic. That being said...I will remove your partner ads from my site that I had posted through Commission Junction as I didnt realize I was advertising for a competitor in forum traffic.

Not really....but you see what I am getting at. Keep with parts sales...let us deal with forum traffic. lol
