Removing formatting within the [code] tags

I've been wondering what I should modify in order to make the code tags remove all bbc formatting that is inside them, for example:

If they inputted this into a code tag

Awesome Link (http://www.vbulletin.org)

they'd get this as a result:

Hi, i'm formatted text
Awesome Link

any help on this?
