I have been loading arcade games into the tar folder using Foxzilla Client with no problem for the past month. The other day I went to upload more games but I can not find the folder it's there but I can't find it. I can see it in my cpanel and can upload games that way but it's a pain. I'm not even sure how the tar folder got lost I am the only one who access's the server. Any ideas on what my have happened and how to fix it. I am very new to this and have been following directions with no real knowledge.

I would think this is a ownership problem..
best and easiest way to fix be Delete the tar folder via cpanel.....
then log to the server via ftp and creat the tar folder again.. and chmodd it to 777..
and you should be all see, if you wish to save any files in the tar folder , you must download to your pc.. thn reupload after you creat the new tar folder via ftp..

hope this helps

by chance you can't delete it via cpanel .. contact your webmaster to do for you.

Will doing this affect the games that are already installed in the arcade? I have over 2200 games installed and would like to avoid sorting them into categories again. I have all game files backed up on a flash drive so that part is not an issue with loading them back into the tar file.

if you have allready added the games to your site, then it doesnt matter what you do with the tar folder. i have deleted the tar folder heaps of time after i have added the games to my forum, it does not effect the games on your forum. my tar folder gets to Meany files so i remove it and re-create that folder.
its up to you, but i'd delete the tar folder and re-create it, change to 777, open tar folder and create a folder called gamedata change to 777.
see how ya go. good luck.

Thank you both you have been a huge help. I just wanted to make sure that everything would be fine afterwords. And it's good to know I don't have to keep those files hosted.

I tried it and now I am convinced this is a hosting issue as I found some other things wrong involving my cpanel. So I sent in a support ticket into them. But either way you have been a huge help.
