About the shoutbox it will be best if you asked at its own thread.
Also it would help if you give a detailed descriptions of what is not working on your forum rather then giving a general and very vague discription like "and you cant click on certain things" etc. We are not mind readers you know :D

A virus did not attack your forum I don't think, It attacked and got into your computer. And then it logged into your site and made a mess.
How to restore from something like this? Backups.
Backups are your friend. Update them often and protect them with your life. Take them to lunch once in a while even, and they'll thank you for it when you need them most.
Like right now for instance.
Backups are a friend you can count on.

As stated above, restore your most recent backup. Also it won''t hurt to check thoroughly your server space and/or db. And let your host know about it so they can check the access logs and see exactly what went down at your forum.
