Is this something of a running trend? vBulletin.com and vBulletin.org have been getting hit by spammers more than what I first saw before.

You may want to look at adding a mod or two to stop this.

I run mods as well but there's only so much you can do to get around it if you want to allow users to be able to register and post though. There will always be some level of spam to deal with.

Cyb's Advanced Permission hack is perfect to stop these asses.

Thank you for your concern, but we are perfectly able to deal with a few spammers. :)

Number of spammers seems to be 1-2 a day.

You must be reading the wrong posts. I haven't seen a spammer here in ages. I'm not saying they don't get through, only that whatever subject they post is sufficiently obvious that I don't read it anyway.

I notice plenty of spammers on this forum, you may be in a different time zone to me, so you won't see them anyway.

And how ironic, a spambot posts in a thread that complains about them ;)

As I said, spambots are becoming more prevalent now =(

and as I said, we are perfectly able to deal with them. There is no need to keep posting about it. :)

TBO it seems the ones on here lately were possibly registered by a real person then put on auto-pilot. I think you do fine here as well and I barely have to report spam posts only when it's between hours for admin to be on i.e. different timezones.

I use:

Re-captcha
New profile field regular expression
NoSpam

Cuts it down by 99% on all the forums I work on unless a human registers then places the bot on autopilot :p.

I've had a massive influx of spam accounts on my forum. About 50 accounts are created everyday... they DON'T POST OR SPAM. You just know they are spam accounts because their signatures have spam links in them.

I use:

Re-Captcha
Profile Field Regular Expression
NoSpam
