What Does This Hack Do?Silver
This is an update of my v3.8.x hack available here, designed to work with vBulletin 4.

NOTE: Because of the difficulty of auto-inserting xhtml code into templates in vBulletin 4, I have gone old school and the display locations are now done via Manual Template Edits. If there was an easy, consistent and reliable way to auto-insert xhtml into templates these edits would be done automatically, so blame Internet Brands for you having to do the template edits and not me.

With kind permission from Dannyloski (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/member.php?u=148596), I have now fully updated and integrated his Photobucket Image Uploader (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=166286) hack (which was itself, with my permission, based on my Imageshack Image Upload hack for v3.6.x.) into this hack (as of v3.8.004).

This is a hack that adds the ability to upload images/files to the Imageshack, MEGAUPLOAD or Photobucket services and be given a url to post in your posts to show your now uploaded file(s), it is available:

when creating a new thread
when creating a new post
editing a post
creating a new private message
replying to a private message
creating a new blog entry (vBulletin Publishing Suite only)
editing a blog entry (vBulletin Publishing Suite only)
creating a new vB CMS article (vBulletin Publishing Suite only)
editing a vB CMS article (vBulletin Publishing Suite only)


The Imageshack, MEGAUPLOAD & Photobucket dialog box are controlled independently via usergroup permissions.

You can control the size and color of both the Imageshack (fully customisable), MEGAUPLOAD (3 sizes and 6 colors) & Photobucket (fully customisable) boxes centrally from the AdminCP.

You do NOT need a premium account to upload using either Imageshack or MEGAUPLOAD.

With MEGAUPLOAD, you can enter your premium account license key (if you have a premium account) in the AdminCP options (see post #57 (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=1804565) @ vbulletin.org for more information).

If you allow your members to use Photobucket, your members will need to registered with, and login to Photobucket to be able to upload files to Photobucket.

AdminCP settings for this hack available in vBulletin Options -> Imageshack, MEGAUPLOAD & Photobucket Uploader.
Settings that can be changed are:

Imageshack iFrame properties - size of the upload input field. The width, height and color (this setting will work instantly once the Imageshack developers fix this) of the iframe
MEGAUPLOAD Embedded box properties - size and color of the embedded MEGAUPLOAD box. You can also enter your premium account license key if you have one (see post #57 (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?p=1804565) @ vbulletin.org for more information).
Photobucket Embedded box properties - size and color of the embedded Photobucket box.

NOTE 1: If you have highly customised templates or styles and the imageshack/MEGAUPLOAD/Photobucket dialog box does not display after usergroup permissions are set, then you may need to manually add the contents of the imageshack template to the templates where you want the dialog box to appear. If that does not work, you are on your own.

Usergroup permissions for each usergroup are available in Usergroups -> Usergroup Manager.
Settings that can be changed are:

Enable the Imageshack Image Upload dialog box
Enbale the MEGAUPLOAD Uploader dialog box
Enable the Photobuck Uploader dialog box

One of my users says when they upload from photobucket they are getting the embed code, not the image bb code. ???

When my members hit "Reply to thread" they are getting sent to Photobucket. Just started happening today! I think it's a Photobucket problem. This also happens on another mod that uses PB. Have to disable for now.

Yep, happened to me today too, whenever you hit "new thread" it would go straight to Photobucket. Turning off the plugin has solved the problem, but yep it seems like it's a Photobucket issue.

It is a Photobucket problem, Dannyloski chased up Photobucket support and they gave him instructions on how to fix it - see here.

If the problems persist, you will need to send an email directly to Photobucket Support, as I can not help you with this issue - support@photobucket.com, and provide a detailed description of the problem. Be sure to include details about any steps you have already attempted.

When using ImageShack I'm getting a 404 error.

It's related to http://reg.imageshack.us/ since that's in the code and is invalid on the imageshack site.

Seems they have changed something. Anyone know a fix for this please?

To solve the problem 404 error you must seek the following value http://reg.imageshack.us in template modified and replaced by the following: http://imageshack.us

I have vbulletin v4.1.3 installed, but cannot find the options in the usergroup manager. I start the usergroup manager, edit a usergroup, but there the options to enable/disable the three different image services are nowhere to be found??? However the plugin is working, I can see all three services I just can't change the permissions. Anyone who can help me?

It's not a problem with this mod - it's a problem with Photobucket. None of the photobucket addons work at all for me.

The dev. page at photobucket even refuses to upload a test image from their very own code.

Anyone successfully removed this mod then updated a usergroups permissions?

I find that if I leave this installed but disabled everything works fine but if I uninstall the mod then updating a usergroups permissions spits an error about a missing column in the SQL data base...

Anyone had this issue before??

edit: Seems that I neglected to delete the "bitfield_ms_imageshack_upload.xml" file... removing that file seems to have done the trick... when in doubt RTFM :P

And then all is ok now !
