This place is dead and no one ever responds to people's issues.
Is there another site that offers paid support services? That's how desperate I am to get my arcade to work the way I want it to to work.

When I attempt to install a game in the admincp, I'm getting that annoying error stating "forums/arcade/gamedata is write-protected. Please change CHMOD to 0777 via FTP."
I have chomodded the directory and anything near it to 777 with no success. And yes, the game was previously uploaded to the tar directory.

Is this every game, or just some new games you trying to install?

You should really post a new thread for an unrelated issue. This is also covered in multiple threads on the first page.

same issue and I am running 2.6.9 on 3.8.5 . Also see this post:

I found out about this issue when some of the games stopped working. I thought I'd uninstall then reinstall them. That's when I began getting this warning and no games can be installed any more.
Some help would be appreciated.

For some reason, I couldn't find a "gamedata" directory under my "arcade" directory. All I did was open a new folder and named it "gamedata", chmodded it to 777 and now I can install easily. Did this folder "gamedata" come with the 2.6.9 version? I am curious as to where it went if it did come with the arcade.

I found out that some games don't install through the arcade. Those were the games generating that particular error. I installed them manually and everything was fine.
