We've posted this on the VaultWiki support area, but I thought I'd post here too, in case anyone has encountered the same issue. We came up against the CKEditor buttons problem (http://tracker.vbulletin.com/browse/VBIV-12351) and tried the fix as suggested, but it basically made our CKEditor unusable - unless we turned off VaultWiki altogether.

It's this one thing that's making it a mod we can't use - if it can be fixed we'll be rating it highly.

Has anyone got a suggestion to fix this?

thincom2000

There is really no way to fix it except for vBulletin to release a patch, since it's a bug in vBulletin.

What do you mean that the fix made CKEditor unusable? What exactly happens to it?

When we uploaded the uncompressed version of Javascript as you advised in the vBulletin bug tracker, CKEditor disappeared completely. So we re-uploaded the compressed version, and the only way to get CKEditor to work was to turn off VaultWiki altogether.

thincom2000
07-05-2011, 04:16 PM
Yes, CKEditor takes a very long time to load with uncompressed Javascript, and during the loading time it seems to have "disappeared." However in 20 seconds or so it should be back. Furthermore, if you have your browser cache turned on, it should only take this long the first time.

Unfortunately, that is the only way currently for custom BB-Code buttons to work until vBulletin posts a compressed version of the fix. If you have VaultWiki enabled, you can also avoid the button issue by hiding all the buttons from the editor using:
in Lite, a plugin (I think you add to array $vault->misc['remove_tags']).
in full, use the Wiki Code Manager

With the full version, can I turn a forum I already have into a vault wiki forum with mini article previews above it? Can I turn articles into forum threads or forum threads into articles?

For instance, I already have threads that should be in the wiki but it would be cool if I could create article previews of them.

thincom2000
07-10-2011, 06:31 PM
You will have to ask about that at the mod's official site. vb.org rules say we're not really allowed to talk about the full version here.

Be specific when you do, so you get a response faster. For example, I'm not sure I even know what you mean by "mini article previews above it".

There is something wrong with the picture upload. It is only attacking width the gray box, and you can not click it as normal vBulletin. It is also wrong with the "You May create new articles"
"You May Not edit articles" messages when viewing messages. It comes out of each other and not as vBulletin.
One should probably not buy a product with so many and persistent errors

thincom2000
07-18-2011, 06:47 AM
It says "You may not edit articles" because you haven't set the VaultWiki permission "Can edit wiki articles?" to Yes. I just checked this on my install and it updates correctly.

I'm not sure what you mean by "it is only attacking width the gray box". If you can't use the Insert Image editor button, it's probably because you're editing in non-WYSIWYG mode. In vBulletin 4.1.4, it's no longer possible to use the button to insert IMG tags, you have to be in WYSIWYG mode for it to work. Otherwise it is working fine on my site.

The Lite version is from an old branch of VaultWiki that they let me post here with certain things taken out and I only update it myself when I have the time. It isn't officially supported by them and I don't keep track of the bug fixes to the main product, only what people report here. The paid version definitely has less bugs because of this.

bjarne2
07-18-2011, 07:38 AM
No it is not vBulletin WYSIWYG fashion is wrong with the Wiki. You can see the big difference in the pictures.

As stated, there are errors in style, it's like being mixed some old with the new.

http://www.club-corvette.dk/op.jpg

When you click on the image when it is uploaded, you get this meny in 4.1.4 which you can edit the picture should be. It does not work in Wiki

http://www.club-corvette.dk/image5.jpg

And right below the message input is error style

http://www.club-corvette.dk/image4.jpg

The Lite version is from an old branch of VaultWiki

That it is an older version that does not work, write you nowhere then it's only an advertisement for buying product.

thincom2000
07-18-2011, 03:39 PM
I have looked into this and I actually see a completely different screen than you do when clicking the button. It seems there is a vB bug here: http://tracker.vbulletin.com/browse/VBIV-12768

It will be difficult to debug the issue you're having until that is fixed, but I will try.

bjarne2
07-18-2011, 04:51 PM
There is no error in vBulletin it is Lite Wiki.
There is nothing wrong with the purchased version. The pigeons just not because of special pages that users do not understand, they are ordinary people and not computer experts.
I regret I have purchased a version, it is no good for our side it is cheap for sale and i will probably have to develop something themselves, as is done with other sites

thincom2000
07-19-2011, 04:38 AM
Well of course there is an error in vBulletin; I just linked to the report. It may not be the cause of your issue, but the vBulletin error is making it difficult for me to solve the VaultWiki Lite bug.

If you want something special that is not in the full version, you should ask if it can already be done at the site before you go off and pay someone else for unneeded work. If there are certain features that are on but you don't like, they can probably be turned off, but again you should ask at the site.

It sounds like your forum's style cache is messed up. If you're using a mod like vB Optimise that stores this information, you probably need to empty its cache. Otherwise, I would try saving it again or rebuilding all styles using the link at the bottom of the Style Manager.

I have a question, does the user IP show whenever he makes an edit or when he makes an article?
The username appears when a user edits or creates an article. The IP would only show if the user is not registered and you have permission to view IPs. Otherwise, if the user was a guest, it would just show as 'Guest'.

It's linked to wiki, but it doesn't show on the php side only forum.

I don't know whether I missed anything but I don't see the point of adding a Wiki to my site if I cannot manage the content, with categories.

Only one forum section get's turned into a wiki, not even the subsections within it. So how do suppose I manage content that can spread to several hundreds of pages? When I cannot make any more forums with wiki enabled-than just a single one.

Besides the point above, the plugin itself is really great and it's really easy to install. And lastly I like how you're taking this seriously by being a legal entity.

You should be able to make sub-forums of existing wiki forums the same way you would add sub-forums to regular forums. I just did this on a test forum very easily.

If you want multiple main sections that aren't sub-forums of each other this is a feature of the paid version.

I know right? This "free" version is a joke, the premium version supports multiple forums and categories, along with VBSEO, how can you make a free version not support VBSEO. Pshhh.

thincom2000
07-31-2011, 02:43 PM
You shouldn't have any issue with vBSEO. The PHP URL you think you're having problems with, showwiki.php (without any query string) is malformed and is designed to redirect to the forum view to give a list of all articles.

Why? Because showwiki.php usually takes an article ID as a parameter, and you didn't give one. Instead of a 404, or invalid ID error, it forwards you to the page where you can pick one. This is actually a feature of the Lite version and has nothing to do with vBSEO.

This version not works with the new editor in 4.1.5

Good pointer - it seems a lot of things are messed up by the new editor. Gee, thanks vBulletin devs... once again!

Any way to replace that new editor with one that actually works?

The new editor is preventing auto-embedded media (AME-3), nor does automatically embedding vaultWiki links work either.

I've noticed the [table] codes do not work, probably because of the vB CMS [table] codes. Any possible solution?

thincom2000
08-10-2011, 11:41 AM
In vBulletin 4.1.4, the vB CMS [table] codes are used even outside the CMS. Because of this change, the TABLE code in VaultWiki Lite no longer works in vBulletin 4.1.4+. There is a tool bundled with the commercial version that essentially lets you pick which one to use, but that tool has never been one of the features in VaultWiki Lite since 2008.

Okay I have been notified of the fix by VaultWiki devs, but I can't currently upload the file here since the attachment script appears to have errors (I can't even get the Attachment Manager popup to appear). We will all have to wait until vb.org devs fix the issue with attachments now.

EDIT: This issue was fixed by updating Firefox. Not sure what the problem was, but Firefox wasn't opening ANY new windows, even from the File menu.

I've installed the Lite version. Unfortunately none of the images show up. The imgdir_vault variable does not to seem to be set, despite setting it under VaultWiki->Wiki Style Manager.

Just out of curiosity, and maybe because I'm a complete newb, but, why would I pay for VaultWiki when I can download and install a MediaWiki page for free?

I must say that I don't know what answer you found and would you buy or not VaultWiki, but for me, I'm very satisfied with VaultWiki.

One of most useful features is auto-links. When you have certain wiki article, everywhere in your forum where its name is mentioned it becomes link to that wiki article.

Of course, having it so tightly integrated with vB is also very big plus for me. Price could look as big problem, but it depends on you. If your forum starts making money, why not spend some of it on very useful software that would help you make even more of it? And yes, that depends what type of community you're trying to build. I agree that there are forums that couldn't benefit from having wiki. But most of them would.

This product is really good but it does have some random issues for instance;

An article of mine vanished after re-appearing, I don't know what happened or could have caused this.

But overall a solid product. I just hope it can be improved in terms of renaming articles and fixing the all of a sudden random issues.

What does this mean when I am trying to add a child forum and add Wiki to it??

The forum could not be added to the namespace. Create the forum with the Wiki mode disabled, and configure the namespace in the Namespace Manager to include this forum. You can then activate the forum's Wiki mode.

this product is a masterpiece, at the beginning, you may just don't like it's not-wiki-like look(as you are similar with mediawiki, I tried vbmediawiki, spent quite time and integrated well, but soon, you will find that it affects the performance of your site ), but once you start using Vault, you recognize it's the right one adding wiki functions to vb, I just bought the 3rd premium one.

After installing this, it screwed with all my styles. For some reason, the navbar is now different. I'm also for some reason having major cache issues. Can't seem to edit my own profile and save. I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times now. Can't figure this out. They seem responsive on their forums but I'm pretty desperate in finding an answer to this. Was looking forward to using this but it does seem to have several small issues. Also the buttons for the editor do not work at all for me.

thincom2000
03-31-2012, 07:05 AM
Other users might be wondering about this so here's what went on with this:

skylab's more pressing issues were not due to installing VaultWiki, but due to two different issues that were not noticed until installing VaultWiki.

skylab had updated to vBulletin 4.1.11 unaware that a number of stylevars he was using in a style customized prior to 4.1.10 had been removed in 4.1.10.

skylab's server had future expires headers set for HTML content, so updates to most pages on vBulletin were made but unnoticed until the headers expired.

The only remaining issue at this time is that the wiki-related editor buttons are not appearing.

skylab
03-31-2012, 11:04 AM
Just wanted to update that they've been very helpful and super responsive.

Not sure what happened with the styles but I'm taking care of that on my end.

The future expire headers was due to the parent directory having it and it wasn't set to off for my forums folder. It also meant that changes were not saved and editing entries kept telling me that another person was editing. For anyone else having this issue, check your expire headers.

I'm working on the editor buttons now but with my track record, it's probably another issue that I missed or caused.

Anyway -- definitely a 5 star.

It would be nice to have a template for when you create a new wiki post

right now you just start off with a blank page that you manually have to edit to make look like a wiki page

here is a simple example

This example describes codes to use inside wiki article. You could make post templates, but I'm not sure if they will work with VaultWiki.

Post templates are mod from DByte Tech: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=277323

The full version of VaultWiki has its own Template feature, but they are not as easy to use as the DB Tech mod. I'm also not sure if that mod works with VaultWiki either. Looking at the tracker for VaultWiki, templates should be easier to use in the upcoming version.

I installed VaultWiki because it is something that I want to set up within the next month. My site is not ready to have the "Wiki" button on the navigation menu yet. Is there a way to remove the "Wiki" button until I am ready to have a wiki on my site without uninstalling VaultWiki?

Also, what is the best way to change the text of the Wiki button so that it says something else? Thanks for the great product!

Just want to thank authors of VaultWiki for their support. I had a problem after upgrade to vB 4.1.12 (and I use full version of VW).

Not to talk too much, I'll give links to threads I opened on vBcom (https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php/400005-Code-optimizations-after-upgrade-from-4-1-2-to-4-1-12-page-generation-s-50-100-up) and VaultWiki.org (https://www.vaultwiki.org/issues/2663/) where you can find more information what's happened and why.

Support provided from VaultWiki is really excellent, top notch and I'm very pleased that I bought VaultWiki. I'm very satisfied customer. Thank you for your excellent product, I really like it and your excellent support makes me glad that I bought it even more.

You have to put the contents of the /upload folder into your forum main directory. Do not upload the /upload folder itself. Also your forum main directory is usually different from your FTP main directory...

So how exactly did you go about uninstalling this? Because the uninstall script that's run by the product manager clearly removes this field that is somehow still in your database, and that occurs before the product is removed, so if it failed, the product would still be there... It sounds like your "uninstall" was you going into the database and removing the product table entry for VaultWiki.

I am getting this error right after I upgraded wiki lite to premium

And there is another thing: I cannot see the list on my admincp's sidebar. (see as attached)

thincom2000
04-30-2012, 09:19 AM
Hm, well they would have the best answer at the site for the full version, but it looks like you're trying to use Lite bitfield files with the full product. This won't work, you need to use the files that came with the paid version.

If you know for sure the bitfield files are correct, it might be a caching issue - I didn't think vB cached the cpnav file, but it does cache bitfields for settings and permissions. You can try Rebuild > Rebuild Bitfields.

You should also see ones called "vault_alter_table" in that file.
These mention vB tables now, and those columns have to be removed from the vB tables. Don't remove anything else, and don't remove the whole table. Just the parts it mentions.

I don't think you're using VaultWiki Lite, as that code does not exist in the vaultwiki_namespace.php file and there is no mention of a "special" BB-Code anywhere in the files. If you are using the full paid version, please seek help at their web site.

If you ARE still using VaultWiki Lite, then your files are not up to date.

Err no.

Oversimplification: It is a wiki, i.e. many people can edit the same item vs posting replies in a thread.
While based on vB it adds all the bits to have a Wiki integrated into a vB forum.
It is quite seamless!

We have Pro and it works very well.

I just installed a test, uninstalled it, and reinstalled it with absolutely no problems. You are either doing something out of the ordinary in the process, or this is caused by another error that you haven't already reported.

You will have to be very specific about the steps you took to "uninstall" the product, including any error messages along the way, because the normal way is working fine for me. I have a feeling you just keep deleting all the vault_ tables from the database manually, expecting that to work, rather than running the Uninstall option in vBulletin's Product Manager.

Also, you can easily just skip steps in the install process by commenting the section out in the files. Modify vault/install/mysql-alter.php to remove the usergroup/vault_permissions part if you're getting an already-exists error.

This message is correct, it's telling you that you didn't finish setup yet. You still need to edit the Default or Wiki namespace, however it is named, and give it a forum to save in.

The following manual page should be relevant for VaultWiki Lite: https://www.vaultwiki.org/manual/Initial-Setup

There is an error happening (maybe conflict with another mod) and you have error reporting turned off. You can check your server logs for the error message, or try to override in showwiki.php. Find:
error_reporting
Add before:
@ini_set('display_errors', 1);
If this doesn't show you an error message then you might not be able to override the directive for 'display_errors' at this level, or the white page might not even be caused by an error.

Yes, but at the moment there's no 4.2, not supported one. :)

And yes, if you check authors site, they already are on 4.2 and are testing VW with it. It will need some changes to work with 4.2, but it will be done.

thincom2000
05-23-2012, 09:19 AM
Only the full version has support for vB's mobile style. I will have to make it turn off the mobile style in the wiki forum list if it looks that bad.

You might be able to get around it yourself by setting a forced style in the wiki forum, under that forum's settings.

The wiki has to be installed to your forum. If your forum already works on mysiteA.com and mysiteB.com with shared logins, then it should carry over when you install VaultWiki. But VaultWiki itself doesn't add any cross-domain cookie sharing or integrated logins across domains.

If you're asking if VaultWiki has a single-sign on feature where you can use vBulletin's user authentication system, um... VaultWiki doesn't have its own authentication system, it's a vBulletin mod, so you need to be on the forum anyway.

When adding the wiki as a tab using the new Navigation Manager, what do I want as the target URL?

thincom2000
05-29-2012, 09:43 PM
@simonhind, you might be running the same version, but some files were updated May 25, which is a few days after 3.0.11 was released. Unless you updated in the past 1-2 days, you should try updating your VaultWiki files. This only happens if VaultWiki reads vBulletin's version number as < 4.1.4, which was fixed for 4.2.0 on May 25.

@Amaury25, if you need to create a custom wiki tab link, use forumdisplay.php?f=ID_OF_THE_WIKI_FORUM
Otherwise you should use the navigation links that are automatically installed with VaultWiki.

On our live 4.1.12 system the extra VW 3.0.19 buttons are blank (no icon) on our 4.2.0 test they are ok.
I'm upgrading on Friday so have not bothered reporting it. (We have the pro version).

First one shows with the plugin - Editor - Hide Wiki Buttons from Standard, Editor - Init Wiki Buttons, and Editor - WYSIWYG Support - disabled... It added a few BB codes to the list (underlined in red), but that's no biggie. Second image shows with those plugins enabled.

Check your stylevar named 'imgdir_vaultedit'. The paths on your site suggest this value is empty, or that your vBulletin board URL (bburl) ends in a slash, which is not allowed according to that setting's description. If the stylevar is empty, it should be set to 'vault/images/editor'. If not, it may not be present in the style cache, so you should try to edit the stylevar anyway to rebuild the cache.

In vault/special_plugins_newpost.php, find:
if (strpos($tag['buttonimage'], 'vault/images/bb_') === false)
Replace with:
if (strpos($tag['buttonimage'], 'vault/images/bb_') !== false)

not true... vaultwiki premium installed and it using the navigation tab created by the plugin.

What does this mean?

Only admins can see this error. Other users can visit the site normally, but your immediate attention is needed in the AdminCP.

Invalid default namespace ID detected. Make sure that you have set up the default namespace via the Namespace Manager. If you have, it is possible that the Namespace Cache is not up to date because of a recent change or VaultWiki upgrade. To solve this issue, simply go to the Namespace Manager and select [Rebuild All Namespaces].

If you still receive this error after rebuilding namespaces, contact VaultWiki support.

It means you are trying to run VaultWiki on your forum when you haven't finished installing it.

Please do what it says and "Make sure that you have set up the default namespace via the Namespace Manager." If you don't know how to do this, please refer to the readme file again.

I've downloaded so many mods in past years that I got lazy on this one. Once I ran install it took me str8 to my admin panel so I just assumed the install was done. Sure wasn't!!!!

Hi guys, I've used vaultwiki for about a year. I like how easy Vaultwiki is, but I'm curious to know if anyone has made modes, addons, etc., that give it more value. I'm looking for reasons to re-subscribe.

If you're very happy with your integration, please post or PM me a link of your forum website. I'd like to take a look.

Well, I guess you're having pro version.

VW4 is now in alpha testing, so there will be new version. If I were you, I'll pay another year of support and upgrades.

I'm using vB 4.1.10. Recently did the install. Looks like a good product but having a few issues.

There are some missing (or unlinked) icon images.
On the article edit page
(URL)/images/buttons/collapse-40b.png
(URL)/images/buttons/collapse-40b_collapsed.png
These appear to be a typo as the filename should be collapse_40b...

The icon in front of the Wiki forum on the Forum page.
(URL)/icon/vb4_wiki_page_new-48.png
This seems to be because it's looking in the wrong directory. I tried setting the Wiki images folder StyleVar to vault/images, but that didn't make any difference.

When I view an article, an expand/collapse icon ((URL)/images/buttons/collapse_40b.png) is oddly at the top right of the page. It expands and collapses the Posting Permissions field which is at the bottom of the page. So that icon is definitely misplaced. I'm using a very vanilla style, so I'm not sure why that's happening.

Linking directly to a post on the discussion page doesn't seem to work. It ends up looking at the article, even if your post is on the third page of comments. After doing some experiments it appears showwiki.php isn't smart enough to know that if you use the p="post number" attribute that it should be on the discussion page. It works if &do=comments is added to the URL but the post links don't already include that. "Go to first new post" (goto=newpost) seems to kinda work in that it goes to the discussion page and on the correct (I assume) page of the thread, but not the specific post.

There are a few new BB Code that I'm not sure do anything.
[media]
[comment]
[reflist]

Image resizing doesn't work in the article, though it still seems to work in the discussion.

Would be great if someone could offer a solution to any of these issues. Thanks in advance. :)

You sure you guys have the right files in this mini-update (3.0.11b)?

I tried in to install on a test server from a fresh clone of my live site. The installer identified itself as version 3.0.9 and said there was a previous version installed (even though there wasn't). The only option was a button that said "upgrade". I clicked that and it screwed up the database and killed the site. I'm rebuilding my test server now.

Check on this please.

thincom2000
08-11-2012, 12:48 PM
Even though the installer reports that it is version 3.0.9, it is still 3.0.11 - but there are no changes needing install/upgrade steps since 3.0.9 so the version number isn't changed. This is the only quirk I see; it shouldn't affect the database schema.

If the update causes database errors for you, a more detailed read-out of the errors would make it easier to assist you.

dougdirac
08-15-2012, 01:32 AM
Yeah, sorry. It looks like even though I was using a fresh clone of my live site on my dev server, some bits of the database were left over from last time I did a trial install. And your install script wouldn't work. Seems to have worked ok on a different clone.

Thanks for fixing all those bugs I pointed out before. :)

Question, though.

On my site for normal forums, showthread.php looks for a thread number. So say I have a URL for a thread, e.g., (home URL)/showthread.php/8886-My-First-Drive-Review. If the thread name gets changed from "My First Drive Review" to "First-Drive-Reviews", the new URL would be (home URL)/showthread.php/8886-First-Drive-Reviews, but the old URL still works since the thread number is the same. However, it seems like with showwiki.php, minor changes in the thread name totally break previous URLs. It that right?

thincom2000
08-15-2012, 10:24 AM
Have you tried this? Renaming an article should leave a redirect at the old URL that points to the new URL, unless you tell VaultWiki not to create one at that time.

dougdirac
08-20-2012, 04:03 PM
Thanks. Is there somewhere to edit or delete redirects?

How do you deal with multiple users uploading pictures to a wiki? My users are getting permission errors, perhaps because they are trying to upload images as attachments.

thincom2000
08-21-2012, 01:35 PM
Redirects are pages with the tag:
Target Page
So you can edit or delete them like regular pages.

You need the full version in order to handle pictures in the wiki properly, and in the full version, you would not be uploading them as normal attachments.

Hey everyone.

I put a ticket in at VaultWiki regarding this issue, but also wanted to run it by you folks to see if any of you have a quick fix. For reference: I'm using the newest version of VaultWiki Lite and Vbulletin 4.2.0 Alpha.

When I install VaultWiki, it creates some custom StyleVars (presumably for use in the Wiki's separate style function). When doing so, it overwrote my existing StyleVar Editor leaving only a single entry. Here's a screenshot: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2012/09/45.png. Removing VaultWiki does eliminate the problem. I was only able to restore the StyleVars Editor by updating vB (I suspect running the updater again would do the same).

Has anyone else experienced this? Do you have a fix? I really like how VaultWiki looks on the page and with the MediaWiki issues I've been having I'd prefer to keep VaultWiki (but absolutely need StyleVars Editor for style modification). Let me know if you need more information.

Yeah, I had this issue as well. I'm not sure that those are VaultWiki specific stylevars as VaultWiki Lite seems to have basically none. It's just that you don't see all your normal ones.

You just have to Run Upgrade Script under Settings after you install VaultWiki and that seems to restore things.

Possibly a stupid question but .......

If I install the free version and then decide to buy the full version, will I have to do the installation over again or will it simply be a matter of adding a licence key or similar. Presumably any articles created with the free version won't disappear if I upgrade.

Hi!

Since it extist no working bridge for the mediawiki/vbulletin software (well, in my case...) your AddOn looks interesting.

On your site, under "Features" i was reading:
"Island wikis allow stand-alone pages"

What meaning this? Wiki pages without an entry in the forum?

When i purchase your mod, i can try this in XAMPP before i install this in my working board?

Thank you in advance

thincom2000

Island pages are "stand-alone" in that:

You can't link wiki pages to island pages. And the wiki doesn't care if you give them duplicate names. VaultWiki doesn't consider them part of the wiki - they are Islands, one-page wikis, by themselves.

Yes, you are allowed to install the mod on your test board before you go live. This is recommended in case you have a conflict with other mods, or need to work out a plan to set it up exactly how you want.

I have a lot of boards and categories inside my forum and i dont want to put more (e.g. coming from the vaultwiki).

Is there a way to hide the wiki-boards from the index, but anyway to discuss entrys (like the vbCMS-boards: They exist but they are not "viewable"...)

Hope you understand what i mean - sorry, english is not my native language.

When I hit the 'Start editing' button this page opens: http://www.xxxx.com/forum/misc.php?do=showsmilies

Clearly the problem is at my end and not with vaultwiki but I haven't a clue why the smilies page opens instead of the wiki article. Anyone any ideas?

Could the author of this mod comment on whether they are committed to continuing to support it through 4.2.x patches/upgrades?

Also, are there any plans to develop this for vB5 and, if so, would there be an upgrade path available?

The authors of VaultWiki intend to continue supporting vBulletin as a platform at least through current/announced versions of vB (including vBulletin 5). That said, a version for vBulletin 5 may take some time as it requires massive coding changes to most mods.

But yes, provided vBulletin doesn't do something foolish like auto-uninstall old products, there should be an upgrade path available from VaultWiki for vB4 to vB5.

Thank you for this: I was looking for the answer to this question. The trouble is I could do with knowing roughly how long after vB5 goes into production stage (i.e. whenever they get out of beta and produce something we can use) it will be before there's a vaultwiki for vB5 in order to consider using this.

I'm currently running vB4.2.0 PL3 and using the vB4 content management system. I can't upgrade to vB5 as yet until they put the feature that handles CMS content back into vB5, otherwise I would lose all the content in the CMS, plus all the momentum we've built up in persuading people to put content in it.

I am considering your paid version of Vaultwiki, but if I bought and deployed it today then found that the CMS made it back into vB5 but there was no upgrade for Vaultwiki I'd then have the same problem I presently have with the absence of the CMS in vB5; so I'm holding off trying your product until I can get better information.

PS: Any updates on your plans for vB5 are helpful.

vBSi have stated that vB5 will not remove tables or columns.
Also, give the CMS will not be in vB5 Gold the CMS content will be preserved until that is released (rumour is vB5.1).

We have bought a vB5 license but don't expect to upgrade for at least 12 months due to CMS, VaultWiki etc, our own customisations etc.

The ZIP has been updated today to address the issues with the install process deleting vBulletin's stylevars that occurs under vBulletin 4. It is not a new version, there are just some changes to the install code.

The issue with stylevars being deleted is actually a vBulletin bug, as documented here (https://www.vaultwiki.org/issues/2857/#note14921), that VaultWiki and its users fell victim to. The changes posted today create a workaround to avoid the problematic vBulletin function.

Actually, VW has versions both for vB3 and vB4 as far as I know (I use it on vB4, but i think that I saw on some sites vB3 version).

Anyway VW v4 isn't v4 for compatibility with vB4, but it's new version, with many, many new features (my personal favorite is thread headers).

My wiki is here: http://slobodni.net/showwiki.php (but it's in Croatian)

I didn't understand, v4 of what, vB, or VW? I'm not sure if VW could be downgraded, but vB could be downgraded from v4 to v3, it's a bit complicated and you need to use impex. Not sure how, but I saw post here.

Anyway, if you need wiki (I think that all communities could use it, found it useful), VW is the best answer for it on vB.

You could try this :

Go to /install/init.php

Find :
@ini_set('display_errors', true);

Change to :

@ini_set('display_errors', false);

Is it possible to have multiple forums enabled for wiki pages in this free version? I only see the default namespace with one top-level forum and can't seem to enable any additional forums.

I believe the free version only supports 1 wiki forum.

I've tried and failed to get the hang of this, but it is very badly written, it uses common templates to perform different functions eg:

You use "Create Parent Forum" to create the Category, you also use it to create the forums, very confusing.

As I see it, it isn't a "true WIKI" in the sense of the word, there's nothing in here you can't do with ordinary forums.

The premium version is $69 after playing with this for a few weeks I wouldn't waste my money, far better to have Docuwiki or similar as a sub-domain, and create links to it.

Marked as "Terrible" and Uninstalled

Actually, I understand that everyone has his own preferences, but this is best wiki for vB, and it integrates perfectly with vB.

Maybe it's not standalone product, but if you have vB, then you actually don't want standalone wiki, with only links to articles. Actually, integration of VW is so great, you don't even need to create links to articles, VW does that by itself (but I think this is only pro option).

Anyway, I'm glad I have VW, I have vB and I don't want standalone wikis. I want integration with my vB forum. And I get this and much more with VW.

The developers of VaultWiki recently discovered an XSS vulnerability in all versions of VaultWiki which could allow users to post arbitrary HTML and Javascript on your site.

VaultWiki 3.0.11 Lite PL 2 corrects this issue and is available now in the first post. Simply overwrite your site's files with the ones from the ZIP to keep your site protected. Due to the serious nature of the bug, we recommend updating as soon as you are able.

I updated the wiki today from 3.0.11 to 3.0.11 PL2.

Now when i enter a topic (no matter where) i get the folowing error:
Warning: Missing argument 2 for special_postbit_display_complete(), called in [path]/includes/class_postbit.php(345) : eval()'d code on line 139 and defined in [path]/vault/special_plugins_bbcode.php on line 725

As said, i have downloaded the zip file, and uploaded the content of the upload folder to my forum, overwriting the old files.
I have done nothing else.

At this moment i have disabled the wiki and the error is gone.
I'm using vB 4.2.1

Please help?

In vault/special_plugins_bbcode.php, find:
function special_postbit_display_complete(&$postobj, &$post_urlinfo)
Replace with:
function special_postbit_display_complete(&$postobj)

Hey guys, I just saw this and was wondering... I wanted to add a Wiki to my site (just like wookiepedia, wikipedia, etc) how similar is it systematically (from the users perspective) to wikipedia itself?

I was going to visit the site in the OP but it doesn't work so I would love to see screenshots or something ebfore attempting to try and add this.

Have a look at ours (pro version).
It's functionally a wiki but uses the BBcode rather than wiki markup

Is this list the only compatibility errors that have been found for VaultWiki Lite under vBulletin 4.2.2? Keep in mind that the editor not working (pictured a few posts above) is due to these errors at the top that break the layout on the page. I'm trying to get a compatible update together to resolve these issues.

Yeah, thanks. After making the recommended edits to includes/class_core.php things started working again. Funny that the simple display of the errors breaks the website.

Cheers!

Looks like an awesome mod! Downloaded and -trying- to install.

During step 4) Importing Language, I received a couple of errors:
Warning: Declaration of vB_Database_Alter_MySQL::add_index() should be compatible with that of vB_Database_Alter::add_index() in ..../includes/class_dbalter.php on line 882

Warning: Declaration of vB_Database_Alter_MySQL::add_field() should be compatible with that of vB_Database_Alter::add_field() in ..../includes/class_dbalter.php on line 882

Warning: Declaration of vB_Database_Alter_MySQL::drop_field() should be compatible with that of vB_Database_Alter::drop_field() in ..../includes/class_dbalter.php on line 882

Warning: Declaration of vB_Database_Alter_MySQL::query() should be compatible with that of vB_Database_Alter::query() in ..../includes/class_dbalter.php on line 882

The step, however, seemed to have completed fine as there were no further errors and it mentioned 'Okay' at the end. I figured, I would note down the errors (also made a partial screenshot), in case of further errors I could at least post that.
So I went on with the install and could complete steps 5, 6 and 7 without errors. After which I got a blank page on step 8. I tried manually adjusting the url to step 9 or 10, or even to a previous step, but still got a blank page.
As a matter of fact, I get a blank page on the forum itself as well. So before I go any further, is there anyone who has an idea of what's going on and how I can fix this? Before I start again and the same thing happens...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This could be a number of things. I have recently seen a similar problem if the mod was installed when vB's sessions table was already full. This would cause database errors on every page load due to a memory overflow. The only way to fix it would be to restore a backup and manually cleanup your sessions table or to increase MySQL's max_heap_table_size and restart MySQL (you would have to do this even if you never install VaultWiki). Then you should be able to install successfully.

However, if you're not seeing database errors in your logs, it's possible you are somehow getting VaultWiki Lite's own blank page issue to occur during the install process. You should be far enough along to access the AdminCP and perform the required install steps in the Namespace Manager which get rid of this error. Once you have done so and you see regular forum pages back, continue the install steps from step 8 onward.

If it's neither of these, something else is going on but you should be able to find more information by looking at your logs.

After installation, the additional.css was not loaded. Whatever I'm doing, all to no avail.
I have uninstalled it, let maintenance go through, style information re-created without success.
After overwriting of client-script / vbulletin_css the style works again. I create the new style information is all gone.

Where are now data of the installation?

Had I known that so many errors on the page I would have never tried to install !!
