hi guys, hopefully someone may be able to help. a lot of my members are getting trojan warnings when visiting my forum. ive had my provider(vps.net) scan the whole server repeatedly and have been unable to find any virus's....i have also upgraded to the latest stable verision of vb 3.8.5, but still the problem is persisting. its not affecting everyone...im estimating maybe 20-25%. im not personally getting the warnings, nor were vps when they looked, which obviously made it hard for them to fix anything!
any advice appreciated. thanks

Not enough information to even guess.
- Could it be from an (external) ad on your pages.
- What virus scanner are the users that have this problem using? All the same? Could it be a false positive?
- What is the full warning?
- Link to a page (non-clickable) that has this symptom.
Any more info you can give.

I have an filezilla RSS feeds widget running on my homepage and sometime last week they piped in links to some sites that hosted malware.
Google blacklisted filezilla Immediately and all users of Google chrome browser started gettign warnings that my site was unsafe to browse because It had "elements of filezilla.com"
Filezilla fixed the problem in a few hours but and I immediately took out the widget upon noticing the problem but the people who saw that warning must have got a bad impression of my site in those few hours.

all the ads on my page are running on the same server but on a different domain using openx. i disabled google ads.
users are using various av software, its definetly not linked to one piece of software.
i started a thread on my site requesting users to post screen shots of the warnings they are getting as requested by vps. i didnt post the link to the thread for obvious reasons.
the website is arbtalk.co.uk, and there doesnt seem to be any one specific page affected. i wondered if it was a home page issue at first but members who jump directly to specific forums are getting the same problems.
sorry im not sure what a false positive is, will go read up on that now :)

I have been opening random pages on your site, but i have not received a single warning from AVG.
A false positive is a virus warning that turns out to be bogus.
